Marklund human resources trainer job description


Marklund is seeking a full-time energetic, self-motivated professional to join our Human Resources team. The hours of this position are Monday through Friday, 1 PM - 9 PM.


$1,000 Bonus paid out over the course of a year ($400 paid after 3 months, $200 paid after 6 months, $200 paid after 9 months and $200 paid after 1 year).


Candidates must be able to perform the essential functions of the job and to meet its functional and environmental requirements.


Who We Are:


Marklund is a nonprofit organization that provides residential, educational and therapy services to infants, children, teens and adults with serious and profound developmental disabilities and special healthcare needs. With three residential locations – the Marklund Hyde Center in Geneva, the Marklund Philip Center in Bloomingdale, and the Marklund Wasmond Center in Elgin, it is currently home to nearly 178 residents. The Marklund Day School offers Multi-Needs and Life Skills programs for children and young adults with multiple medical needs, and those diagnosed on the autism spectrum. In addition, our Community Day Services program at each site is a therapeutic day program for adults who reside at Marklund and those who come in from the community.

Responsibilities include:


+ Implement and maintain an effective onboarding and job training program for Caregivers


+ Provide guidance and direction to Caregivers in performance of direct care activities


+ Ensure that all personnel involved in providing care to residents are aware of the IPP and training goals


+ Monitor training plans


+ Collaborate with scheduler for full functionality of homes


+ Coordinate and assign staff with orientees

Position Overview:

This role will p rovide both direct training and training supportive functions to help associates gain and maintain the skills and knowledge they need to perform safely, efficiently and effectively. In addition, this role will ensure all training is coordinated, scheduled, facilitated, and documented in accordance w ith internal and external program requirements.

Responsibilities:

+ Drive and support business results and continuous improvement through training and development of associates.

+ Coordinate, schedule and communicate all annual training classes (SAFE, SLA, personal/professional development, etc.) .

+ Maintain an effective, accurate and timely Records retention filing system representing the training and orientation conducted on all associates.

+ Lead New Hire Orientation and t rain all new associates on plant and company procedures and policies.

+ Develop, maintain and revise training "pack ets folders " for all associa tes as need ed .

+ Responsible for creating and maintaining training rosters in filing system including updating folders and Workday . Update Microsoft SharePoint training files as needed on a daily or weekly basis.

+ C oordinate On the job training (OJT) process including follow up with trainees and management. Manage documentation tracking progress of OJT's.

+ Act as liaison between Department Management, shift supervisors, associates and HR to ensure the continuous application of proper training.

+ Must be able to provide training at various times of the day or night servicing all shifts and plants.

+ Maintain and print rosters for updates and changes to procedures, JHAs and other training as needed.

+ Weekly, review and manage training paperwork for job moves, cross training, terminations etc.

+ Represent the training department and attend facility and company meetings as needed.

+ Maintain working knowledge of the SAFE Handbook and its annual updates to program topics and update SAFE Presentation content for annual training as needed.

+ Maintain Confidentiality and professionalism.

+ Ability to translate both verbally and in written form from English to Spanish and vice versa.
