Job Summary
The HR Generalist/Recruiter provides a variety of routine, complex, and human resource services in support of HSPPR operational initiatives and goals for all 5 locations of HSPPR. This position will also manage the recruitment of open positions throughout HSPPR through the full cycle of interviewing to onboarding.
Responsibilities
Review resumes and job applications using HRIS/ Applicant Pro database
Assist hiring managers by conducting regular check-ins to understand the needs of their department, by scheduling candidate interviews, and by participating in interview process (as appropriate)
Assist in recruitment efforts by participating in job fairs and community outreach to employment organizations
In conjunction with the Senior Human Resources Manager and/or the Human Resources Director, assist supervisors and managers to ensure proper documentation and delivery of corrective actions to address staff attendance, performance and behavior issues
Escalate requests for termination of employment for proper approval in advance of final check preparation. Will facilitate termination meetings when required.
Join HR team in conducting various HR training programs, as scheduled
Coordinate on-site meetings for employees to attend HR initiatives (benefit enrollment / 401K meetings / professional development / etc.)
Serve as a point person for staff employee-relations concerns
Field and facilitate Q&A regarding HR questions; escalate issues as appropriate
Facilitate (plan, set-up and roll-out) initiatives of social squad, all-staff meetings, and other on-site events and activities as it best serves all HSPPR locations
Participate in Safety committee and other committees to ensure representation and deliverables are coordinated at all levels of the organization
Maintain current HR files and other records
Perform file audits to ensure that all required employee documentation is collected and maintained.
Contribute to HR team with suggestions that facilitate continuous improvement and current "best" HR practices

Requirements
Able to effectively read, write, interpret, communicate, perform basic problem solving, and perform basic math as commonly expected from completion of a High School Diploma or Equivalent Education.
3+ years experience in human resources as a Generalist or multi-faceted HR experience
Strong computer skills and working knowledge in Microsoft Office suite of products.
Not-for-profit recruiting experience a plus
Experience with Paylocity a plus
PHR/SPHR certification a plus
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build trust and rapport at all levels of the organization
Communicate clearly, both written and verbally with staff and in group presentations and meetings
Able to effectively read and interpret information
Strong time management skills; Able to prioritize and plan work activities to use time efficiently

Job Summary
The Animal Law Enforcement Officer Recruit will actively pursue the knowledge and skills that will enable the employee to perform the duties and responsibilities of an Animal Law Enforcement Officer I. Must be able to perform the key duties and responsibilities of an Animal Law Enforcement Officer I at the end of the training period and meet the requirements to be promoted to ALE Officer Level I.

Minimum Performance Standards for continued employment
At the end of the ALE Training Academy (approximately 12 weeks), the ALE Officer Recruit must be able to pass the ALE Training Final Exam with a minimum score of 80% and successfully complete the Field Training phase as outlined in PowerDMS. ALE Officer Recruits will need to be able to complete the following tasks, at which time they will be promoted to ALE Officer Level I.
Can consistently complete the following calls for service and all associated documentation without direct supervision: animal impound, dog at large, and noisy pet;
Can consistently complete Priority 1 calls for service with supervision and/or assistance from a supervisor or more senior officer;
Proven ability to successfully and consistently intake dogs and cats (vaccinate, locate open kennels, follow established animal sheltering policy and procedures, etc.) into the shelter and complete all associated documentation in Chameleon;
Recruit's Primary FTO will determine when the employee has successfully completed the Field Training phase of the academy through the completion of Daily Observation Reports (DOR's) and as appropriate, make recommendations for promotion to ALE Officer Level I to the Divisional Leader;
ALE Training Manager will determine the successful completion of the Academic Training and as appropriate recommend the Recruit for promotion to the appropriate Divisional Leader;
ALE Sergeant will make the final determination to promote the ALE Officer Recruit to ALE Officer Level 1 based on skills demonstrated, DOR's, and the Training Sergeant's recommendation.
If after no more than fifteen (15) weeks of employment, the ALE Officer Recruit is unable to successfully complete the Field Training Phase of the training academy or is unable to pass the ALE Training Final Exam with a score of 80% or more, the Recruit's employment will be terminated.

The Admissions Representative provides positive, empathetic, and exemplary customer service to patrons and community partners in an efficient manner, including the intake of stray, owned, or deceased animals or those requiring temporary housing by HSPPR; assisting pet owners with lost pets, animal identification, and reunification; working cohesively with coworkers, other departments, and volunteers; and assisting the public in a professional manner. The Admissions Representative ensures an environment of compassionate and respectful animal and people care in accordance with HSPPR's mission, values, goals, and management philosophy.
Key Duties and ResponsibilitiesDaily Customer Service
Adheres to high-quality standards of customer service and performance is consistent with protocols, including but not limited to, demonstrating empathetic care and services for customers in various emotional states; communicating with members of the public through various channels; interacting with patrons to address their concerns, answer their questions, and assist with their needs; acting as a liaison, provide appropriate alternate options, additional resources or service information; assisting community partners with animal receiving and/or disposition issues; resolving any emerging problems with accuracy and efficiency; ensuring customer satisfaction and providing professional customer support; public education on animal shelter dynamics, animal overpopulation, adoption criteria, and euthanasia.

Administer intake vaccines for dogs and cats, in accordance with shelter protocols.

Maintain appropriate data entry and recordkeeping, including new animal intake appointments; lost and found animal reports; kennel locations; current intake status of animals; customer interactions, transactions, comments and complaints; bite reports.
Demonstrates safety protocols for volunteers to ensure consistent humane treatment and handling of animals.
Relationships

Minimum Performance Standards for continued employment
At the end of the ALE Training Academy (approximately 12 weeks), the ALE Officer Recruit must be able to pass the ALE Training Final Exam with a minimum score of 80% and successfully complete the Field Training phase as outlined in PowerDMS. ALE Officer Recruits will need to be able to complete the following tasks, at which time they will be promoted to ALE Officer Level I.
Can consistently complete the following calls for service and all associated documentation without direct supervision: animal impound, dog at large, and noisy pet;
Can consistently complete Priority 1 calls for service with supervision and/or assistance from a supervisor or more senior officer;
Proven ability to successfully and consistently intake dogs and cats (vaccinate, locate open kennels, follow established animal sheltering policy and procedures, etc.) into the shelter and complete all associated documentation in Chameleon;
Recruit's Primary FTO will determine when the employee has successfully completed the Field Training phase of the academy through the completion of Daily Observation Reports (DOR's) and as appropriate, make recommendations for promotion to ALE Officer Level I to the Divisional Leader;
ALE Training Manager will determine the successful completion of the Academic Training and as appropriate recommend the Recruit for promotion to the appropriate Divisional Leader;
ALE Sergeant will make the final determination to promote the ALE Officer Recruit to ALE Officer Level 1 based on skills demonstrated, DOR's, and the Training Sergeant's recommendation.
If after no more than fifteen (15) weeks of employment, the ALE Officer Recruit is unable to successfully complete the Field Training Phase of the training academy or is unable to pass the ALE Training Final Exam with a score of 80% or more, the Recruit's employment will be terminated.

Appropriately documents observed animal behaviors utilizing objective language as required in relevant procedures and/or policies.
Maintain appropriate recordkeeping of animals daily, including location, current status, and placement decision.
Develops and maintains Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) accordingly.
Executes safety protocols for staff and volunteers to ensure consistent humane treatment and handling of animals.
Coordinates with other key staff to determine service goals, plans, and timelines.

Job Summary
The Veterinary Assistant is responsible for ensuring high veterinary medical standards and assisting in all aspects of the Surgery Team or the Patient Care team in an efficient and professional manner. Works cohesively with all departments of the organization.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Assists the veterinarians with patient exams by providing proper animal restraint, obtaining a medical history from records and/or, performing tasks and treatments as directed, and filling medications.
Communicates with shelter veterinarians regarding the status of animals in treatment. Reports concerns and triages priorities while working with medical and shelter staff.
Calculates appropriate drug dosages.
Medicates animals, ensuring all animals receive the appropriate medication.
Animal handling, including kenneling animals after surgery and retrieving animals for owners following appointments within the surgery center.
May assist during surgeries by providing animal restraint, assisting with pre-medication administration, and overseeing recovering patients.
Cleans kennels and provides animal care as directed by the Veterinary Services Supervisor or Manager
Computer data entry and record keeping according to established protocol.
Checks and re-stocks supplies as needed.
Assists with Euthanasia as required.
Perform other duties as assigned.
