Position Summary
The Senior Analyst II, Quality Control - Flow Cytometry is to support our Quality Control department. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing routine testing for manufacturing release and stability samples of gene (viral vector) and cell therapy products.
In this role, the Senior Analyst II will collaborate closely with Manufacturing and Quality Control Operations teams to ensure all required testing is completed accurately, on time, and in full compliance with established standard operating procedures and testing methods.
This position reports to the Technical Lead Manager, Quality Control - Analytical, and is based at our East Norriton, PA facility.
Job Responsibilities
* Perform routine sample analysis in support of manufacturing release and stability activities.
* Sample testing of manufactured products using protein-based assays, molecular methods, and cellular assays.
* Participate in method qualification/validation activities, as necessary.
* Analyze, document, and report experimental data in accordance with Resilience requirements.
* Maintain, calibrate, and operate analytical equipment.
* Qualify equipment related to testing.
* Serve as owner of QC equipment and complete necessary owner tasks, as assigned by management.
* Perform method transfer and qualification activities.
* Document work in accordance with cGMPs, established business processes and applicable SOPs.
* Review data, identify discrepancies, and escalate issues to management.
* Author SOPs, methods, protocols, training materials, and reports in alignment with applicable cGMPs, business standards, and intended use.
* Own, author, review/approve, and support QC change controls, deviations, and other quality records for the East Norriton site, as applicable.
* Investigate OOS or OOT events and develop/implement preventive and corrective actions.
* Mentor, coach and train Quality Control Associates.
* Completes qualified program requirements necessary to train other employees.
* Acts as liaison with Clients for site-specific Flow Cytometry, as needed.
* Other activities as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
* Experience in mammalian cell culture.
* Knowledge of general analytical methods.
* Successful visual acuity test required for this role.
* Experience in Flow Cytometry.
Preferred Qualifications
* BS in relevant discipline (immunology, cell biology, or related field).
* 5+ years relevant life science experience.
* GMP experience preferred.

Washington State has a vibrant beef cattle industry and ranks among the top in the U.S. in total beef cattle harvested. This position directly serves the needs of the Beef and meat industries in Washington State. Washington State's agriculture production is as diverse and vast as the state's growing regions, which consist of the Pacific Ocean coast; the high rainfall west coast including rainforest and islands; the Cascade Mountain range; the high desert of Central Washington; and the rolling hills of dry-land farms in Eastern Washington. These diverse climates, rich soils, and access to irrigation support the production of over 300 crops, including animal agriculture, specialty crops, row crop production, and forestry. Livestock production is a major part of Washington State agriculture, with large numbers of beef and dairy cattle, major beef feedlots, beef and milk processing plants, marketing cooperatives, and access to high-value export and niche markets. The annual farm gate value of livestock and livestock production in Washington is approximately $2.65 billion. In addition to production of traditional livestock and poultry, Washington State also has an economically important aquaculture industry involving fish, shellfish, and aquatic plant products.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The individual will have a familiarity with multi-cultural and different socioeconomic audiences, an interest in working with people from diverse backgrounds, and a commitment to the principles of diversity. The research program should address issues facing the beef industry, including strategically adapting improvements that enhance the sustainability of meat production. The individual will establish an independently-funded, integrated research program and modern and effective teaching curriculum in meat science and will mentor graduate students. The individual will complement and extend current initiatives and strengthen an already accomplished faculty in the Department of Animal Sciences. Faculty colleagues perform research focused on improving the quality of animal food products; enhancing environmental compatibility of animal agriculture; and increasing the economic profitability of food animal production systems. This position will serve a critical need for the Department of Animal Sciences to maintain excellence in: meat and muscle biology; livestock production; livestock production efficiency; student and stakeholder engagement; and safety, quality, and nutritional value of meat products.
The successful candidate will be a faculty member in the Department of Animal Sciences and will report to the Chair of Animal Sciences.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
PhD in Animal Science, Meat Science, or Food Science or related field by the time of hire.

PROFESSIONAL EXPECTATIONS:
Teaching at WSU focuses on undergraduate, graduate, and professional student instruction and is both formal and informal in nature. THE MEAT SCIENCE LAB:
WSU Meats Lab is a 15,000 sq. ft. USDA-inspected facility that provides the harvest, fabrication, packaging, and storage of fresh, cooked, and frozen meat products. The facility is located on campus and a mere 5-minute walk from the Animal Sciences main office. It contains a low-stress animal receiving area, a classroom for instruction, chilled processing room, product packaging equipment, mixers, a commercial smoker, a hamburger patty maker, and retail sales area. The harvest area is designed for safe teaching and Extension opportunities as well as ease of custom harvest and sampling for research.

What You Will Do
Actively participate in the safety and environmental programs at Madison
Verify that equipment which can critically impact end products are checked daily.
Lead downfall surveys, focusing on the panel saw but not limited to.
Interpret and record data, provide feedback to leadership and operators
Become familiar with and eventually possess the knowledge to train employees on grading of products in their department.
Become familiar with division Plywood Standards in comparison with Madison in order to train employees on mill processes for manufacturing plywood. I.e. "What Good Looks Like"
Become familiar with and eventually possess the knowledge to train employees on use of Ignition quality/process control software and procedures.
Assure the mill complies with all facets of the plywood QMS program
Assist and/or complete mill studies for recovery, quality, efficiency, etc. as required.
Present statistical information to mill management showing trends in quality.
Maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, to include wearing safety equipment, i.e.: safety glasses, hearing protection, steel-toed boots and other PPE as required by specific jobs
Must be able and willing to work a flexible work schedule
Must be able and willing to work in an industrial manufacturing plant including extended periods of time in noisy, non-air conditioned or unheated areas
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
Two (2) years of work experience in an Industrial Manufacturing environment.
Basic computer skills with understanding of Microsoft Office Suite
Prior work experience in a Quality role in a manufacturing environment
