The Quality Control Supervisor is responsible for the performance of the inspection team. This position is a working management/leadership position. Responsibilities Production Support: * Assess daily workloads and priorities and assign work to inspectors.
* Oversee and assist inspectors to assure that assignments are completed in a timely manner, with high quality.
* Establish metrics to measure the inspection team's performance and use these metrics to determine manpower requirements and team performance improvement goals.
* Manage the nonconforming material control and disposition process and assure that nonconforming product is dispositioned accurately and in a timely manner.
* Escort NDE Personnel and ensure they have needed information to complete operations. Serve as primary contact for onsite vendor related to inspections.
* Work with project management team to ensure proper NDE scheduling.
* Determine inspection equipment needs for both manufacturing and inspection. Review needed equipment at project kickoff.
* Establish inspection methods and procedures and assure the personnel are familiar with and operating in compliance to these methods and procedures.
Calibration of Measuring Devices:
* Develop and manage the calibration requirements of all measuring devices of the company.
* Ensure all measuring devises are available at the point of use, are within their calibration limits, and are properly cared for.
* Work with calibration vendors and supply chain to make sure all devices are calibrate properly with certifications.
* Participate in implementing company strategic plan goals, quality program initiatives, safety objectives, continuous improvement efforts, lean manufacturing techniques, good housekeeping practices, corrective action implementation, quick changeover initiatives, and other company-wide initiatives at improving productivity and increasing profitability.
* Develop and conduct training for all employees on the proper use, handling and care of all precision measuring devices.

Required Skills and Experience:
* High School Diploma, or GED.
* Preferred: A College degree in Quality, Manufacturing Business Administration, Engineering or related field and/or the equivalent combination of education with 5 years industry experience. Additional training in the quality functions, sciences, disciplines to include 6-sigma desired
* Minimum of 3 to 5 years leadership experience as a Quality Control Supervisor in a manufacturing organization.
* Thorough understanding of measuring devices and their calibration requirements.
* Experienced in training and educating mechanical technicians in the proper use of inspection tools, use and care.
* Knowledgeable of Quality standards, references, guidelines and can interpret those standards to best fit our culture and climate.
* Participated in and understands the requirements to ISO 9001:2015 and/or API
* Experience with NDE techniques including MT, PT, RT, UT, AUT and visual inspection.
* Familiarity with welding and welding inspection.
* Experienced in interpreting technical standards.
* Must be able to effectively communicate across all levels of the organization both orally and through written procedures and policies.
* Understanding of and can promote process improvement, developing standards, managing processes supporting manufacturing methods and procedures.

Qualifications
Qualifications:
Certified API SIRE inspector is preferable
AWS CWI certification
NDE (UT, MT, PT, etc..) & NACE certifications are preferable.
Must have good Quality Assurance / inspection experience of rotating equipment especially compressors
Skid fabrication inspection experience would be an asset
The inspector will be required to sign an independent contractor agreement/sub-contractor agreement (1099) with SGS North America Inc.
Expected length of contract is 2 months.
Pay - $45/$50 per hour.

Summary
The Petroleum Inspector performs testing of bulk liquid or gaseous hydrocarbon or chemical cargo supervision services, such as but not limited to, gauging, sampling and reconciliation of transfer from shore tank, barge or ship to shore tank, barge or ship. Acts in accordance with Client, SGS Operational Excellence practices and Industry standards.
Job Functions
Physically samples, measures, and takes the temperature of vessel's tanks and shore tanks utilizing a variety of methods dictated by company and American Petroleum Institute (API) procedures.
Follows Safely standards and performs job efficiently. Works within defined technical processes and procedures or methodologies.
Calculates and reports quantities of the bulk liquid or gaseous hydrocarbon transferred and performs full reconciliation.
Completes all required reports and forms, using the SGS propriety Ship Inspection Report (SIR) and / or Site Acceptance Test (SAT) systems.
Works in cooperation with client's representatives, US Customs, vessel personnel, government agents and shore facility personnel.
Maintains regular communication with the business unit office staff with reference to job status, problems, concerns, etc.
Maintains knowledge and adheres to the latest industry, client and SGS internal standards, policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Inspect and audit all incoming materials from external suppliers.
Inspect all fabric and components (raw materials) using knowledge of AQLs and the ANSI/ASQ Z1.4 table.
Understand and follow contract requirements and military standards.
Use measurement tools accurately and understand tolerances.
Apply the four-point count system to fabric inspections.
Operate and maintain inspection machines in a warehouse setting.
Detect, mark, and document defects in materials.
Identify different types of fabric and material defects.
Audit packing slips, test letters, Certificates of Conformance (COC), and other paperwork received with raw materials.
Create and complete Discrepant Material Reports (DMRs) and follow up with the Supply Chain department on the status of DMRs.

This technician will calibrate, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on equipment in the quality program. In addition, they will troubleshoot and repair instruments and systems.
