Responsibilities Maintain accuracy in all work; Complete tasks on time and per any deadlines, label specimens with a high degree of accuracy, ensure proper tubes are used for each blood test ordered Verify the identity of every patient before collecting any samples identification and sample collection using paper orders in the event of an interruption in computer service Be aware of Medicare guidelines, send-out test requirements, and special tests; Explain Medicare ABNs to patients clearly and accurately Perform venipuncture and finger/heel stick procedures with a high degree of professionalism and concern for the patient, including a minimum of 2 sticks per encounter Collect nasal and throat swabs and blood cultures when needed Qualifications High school diploma or GED Experience preferred; but not required
