Under general direction, is responsible for the acquisition of CT Scans of patients for diagnostic purposes and providing patient service, using applicable imaging modalities. A CT Technologist provides optimal patient care utilizing established accepted techniques. Performs CT Scans with and without contract within established guidelines in the clinic setting. Provides care to patients during CT Scans. Performs clinical activities required to assist the physician in a clinical setting. Willingly helps in other departments or other team members within the Imaging department whenever the needs arise. 5. Assists Radiologist with Invasive / Non-Invasive Imaging procedures. 6. Transports patients to and from floor if needed while confirming face-to-face hand off. 7. Promotes a professional image by adhering to established dress codes. 8. Completes work assignments within a reasonable time frame. 9. Must have all images checked by registered technologist prior to completing for Radiologist interpretation. 10. Reports to supervisor all discrepancies in the work environment. 11. Utilizes PACS and EMR correctly and efficiently. 12. Adhere to all TJC standards. 13. (ALARA, wearing of lead aprons, shielding of patients, appropriate collimations) Qualifications Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Experience Required: Education: Must be a 2nd year student in an accredited Diagnostic Imaging Program. BLS certification must be current or completed within first 60 days. Experience: Must be knowledgeable of all basic imaging procedures and no issues with track of graduation. Performs imaging procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail. Performs a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgment, with ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiological diagnosis. Assumes responsibility for designated areas or procedures as required. Operates CT / X-Ray Equipment to make quality Images / radiographs of designated body parts, utilizing the lowest possible radiation dose. Responsibilities include knowledge of all CT/Radiology procedures, proper patient positioning, exposures, Utilization of PACS, implementation of patient charges, and assists physicians as required. Responsibilities Use common sense and special medical skills to care for the sick or handicapped. Understand technical information from supervisors, charts, reference books, manuals and labels. Use eyes, hands and fingers with skill. Work fast in an emergency situation. Effectively communicate with people when they are sick, handicapped, or nervous. Follow instructions exactly. Record information accurately. Ability to care for patients of all ages. Qualifications Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Experience Required: Education: High school diploma or equivalent, Graduate of an Accredited Diagnostic Imaging Program, ARRT in Radiology (CT preferred) License, Certification and/or Registration: ARRT(R) Required, ARRT(CT) preferred BLS must be obtained during orientation period Experience: Minimum of one-year clinical experience in direct patient care setting preferred. Requires proficiency at a technical level not requiring constant direct supervision in CT Additional Skills/Abilities: Must have excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, requiring prioritizing and changing task frequently and quickly. Must be able to work in a team environment. Must be able to use a computer terminal, fax machine, and copy machine.
