Founded in 1927 to memorialize those lost in World War I, our facility has provided effective health care services, delivering quality care to the residents of Walker County and its surrounding communities.
1955 - The HMH Auxiliary is chartered.
1964 - The W.T. Robinson Sr. wing is built, providing an additional 30 beds to the hospital.
1966 - Joe G. Davis School of Vocational Nursing hosts the first class of nursing students.
1976 - The Walker County Hospital District and Hospital Corporation of America (HCA) form an agreement and Huntsville Memorial Hospital becomes an HCA-managed facility.
In 2016, our facility was awarded the Joint Commission Primary Stroke Center designation, recognizing our exceptional programs and resources for stroke victims and their families.
In 2016, HMH was also the highest overall sponsor of the Walker County Heart Walk to benefit the American Heart Association.
