PAY RATE : $16.17- $18.80/hour DOQ (Up to 1,500 hour per year) GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Under the direction of the District Interpretive Services Supervisor, this year-round, part time Interpreter position seeks to present a variety of interpretive programs to school groups of all levels, families, community groups and other members of the public, to share the rich natural and cultural history of Southeast Michigan at the Huron-Clinton Metroparks. Work responsibilities in this position involve planning, preparing, and presenting talks, demonstrations, and promoting public interest in the appreciation of natural, historical and cultural resources. This position performs a variety of professional and technical duties related to interpretive programs and operation of nature centers, farms, and museums for assigned district.This position is part-time up to 1500 hours per year.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES: The list below is intended to describe the general nature of duties only. Employees shall perform other duties as assigned.
Develop and conduct interpretive presentations to students, families, summer camps, and the general public.
Promote public interest and participation in interpretive programs through tasks, illustrated lectures, and dissemination of pertinent publicity.
Work a varied schedule, work any day of the week, including weekends and holidays, am or pm shifts, and in any type of weather.
Register groups and individuals for programs, create invoices, prepare and send out correspondence, and arrange other school/group visit logistics.
Create and maintain necessary reports and paperwork.
Market programs as needed.
Welcome and interact with casual park visitors and answer inquiries in person and via telephone, e-mail, and social media.
Maintenance of indoor facilities and outdoor spaces, including captive animal and trail maintenance, as needed.
May serve on committees.
May assist with special events.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Associate's degree from accredited college within nature interpretation, environmental education, biology or natural resources management or a related field.
Bachelor's degree preferred.
Progressively responsible experience in interpretation, education or a related field.
An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to demonstrate the ability to perform the job may be substituted for the degree requirement.
Ability to promote and maintain cooperative working relationships with educational groups, park visitors and other employees.
Must maintain a valid Michigan driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
Ability to communicate verbally to give tours, lead programs and presentations.
Ability to use technical lab and data collection equipment.
May be assigned to work in other parks and districts as needed and if necessary.
Will be required to work assigned Special Events, Weekends, Evenings and Holidays.
Will be required to adjust schedule to meet organizational needs.
Ability to perform essential duties.
GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of the principles and practices used in developing and carrying out a diversified interpretive program.
Knowledge of and ability to design science education programs that support the specific grade level content expectations and Michigan Science Standards set by the Michigan Department of Education.
Certified Interpretive Guide (CIG) certification, or the ability to complete CIG certification within one year.
Knowledge of and ability to collect ecosystem data using technical equipment.
Ability to speak effectively before large groups.
Ability to operate listed tools and equipment.
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with the public, outside agencies and employees.
Must be able to demonstrate creativity and the ability to implement new initiatives.

This position identifies emerging trends, understands platform data, and translates that insight into bold, big-picture strategies that elevate our brand and reach new audiences.
In addition to leading our social media strategy, this position plays an active role in content creation -capturing compelling photography and video for use not only across our social channels but also in broader advertising initiatives. The position develops longer-form video projects for platforms such as YouTube, the Metroparks website, and commercial placements, ensuring stories are told with creativity, accuracy, and impact. Through innovative content creation, thoughtful analytics, and precise execution, the role enhances brand visibility, strengthens audience connections, engages new communities, and supports key business objectives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Promote Metroparks brand and image
Develop and implement social media strategies to align with business goals
Create, schedule and publish engaging content across social media platforms. This includes writing, editing and proofing social media posts, reels, videos and stories, growing community engagement, and supporting social media campaigns.
Manage various social network profiles
Monitor and respond to comments, messages and mentions to foster community engagement while representing the Metroparks brand
Stay up to date with social media trends, algorithm changes and best practices
Leverage social media trends to drive results and amplify following
Manage social media tools and platforms used for scheduling, listening and analytics
Manage and optimize year-round paid social advertising campaigns across multiple platforms, primarily by coordinating with external ad placement agencies/vendors, while occasionally executing smaller campaigns internally
Create monthly analytics reports on social media marketing efforts. Monitor performance reports, analyze results, and continually refine strategy to improve campaign effectiveness and overall ROI.
Manage communication and negotiations with advertising partners, coordinating contract execution, payment processing, scheduling, and submission of ad artwork
Prepare advertising quotes, create and track purchase orders, and perform all necessary accounting procedures to support social media advertising operations
Collaborate on content creation with multiple departments and outside partners
Operate camera equipment to capture promotional photos and videos
Manage and add to promotional photo gallery
Film, edit and manage video content in coordination with multiple departments
Attend park programs, events and activities to capture, create and publish content
Maintain a high level of communication and collaboration with the Chief of Marketing and Communications
May serve on employee committees

Job Description
As a home health occupational therapist, you'll help individuals with the skills needed for life's daily activities. Working in patients' homes, nursing homes or memory care, you'll review their medical histories, develop and implement occupational therapy treatment plans, recommend and provide equipment, monitor patient progress and more. You'll play a critical role in helping patients who are ill, injured or disabled regain quality of life.

Compensation:

BARGAINING UNIT / LEVEL: Non-Supervisory Bargaining Unit - Level 04/06 SALARY RANGE: $54,954 - $74,942 annually DOQ (2026 rate) Reporting to the Chief of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI), this position serves as the public face of the DEI department, building and maintaining relationships with communities throughout the Metroparks' service area. This role is responsible for supporting the department's day-to-day operations and strategic initiatives, including:
Public Representation: Acting as the primary point of contact (within the DEI department) for community organizations, fostering positive and collaborative partnerships.
Program & Project Coordination: Facilitating DEI-related projects (and other projects as assigned), ensuring their successful implementation across the organization.
Communications & Administration: Assisting with the coordination of presentations and training, managing communications with key committees, and providing support to the DEI Team.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Works under the general supervision of the Chief of DEI. Position works independently and exercises judgment and discretion in completion of duties.

Assist in the ideation, design, coordination, and/or facilitation of DEI workshops, presentations, learning opportunities and other strategic initiatives that promote DEI
Serve as a coordinator and liaison to develop mutually beneficial relationships and partnerships with community organizations in Southeast Michigan
Assist with the development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluating programs and processes that promote and sustain DEI within the Metroparks
Coordinate data collection, entry, analysis, and reporting processes related to DEI work and practices. Use data to monitor and report progress in DEI focus areas.
Respects and protects the privacy and confidentiality of all employee- related data and information
Work collaboratively and with other departments on projects initiated by Metroparks Leadership
Investigate and recommend alternative programming options to promote DEI.
Assist in improving community-wide engagement
Work with DEI advisory team and other action committees on strategies that promote DEI across the organization
Composes and edits a variety of correspondence, reports, and other material requiring judgment as to content, accuracy and completeness
Proofs and edits DEI communication content for both internal and external use.
Acts as custodian of department documents and records. Establishes and maintains filing systems. Maintains catalog, specifications and commodity record files.
Assist at various meetings by taking notes and revising into minutes.
Assist in setting up events
Maintains department inventories and orders office supplies, materials, supplies, and equipment in accordance with HCMA purchasing policies
Coordinate materials to be sent to and attend DEI events and professionally represent the Metroparks
Request, receive, proof and coordinate program and event information from multiple departments and locations
Tracks project and campaign schedules to ensure deadlines are met and projects stay on task
Assist with special projects
Serve on employee committees
Perform other duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - Level 04:
Associate degree in related field, bachelor's preferred. Applicants with 4 or more years of related service will be given credit to meet the minimum educational requirements and will be considered for the position.

Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing

Responsibilities:
Safety and Security of the passengers, crew and vessel.
Prudent vessel watch keeping and safe vessel operations, adhering to company and regulatory standards.
Comprehensive daily inspection of all vessel interior and exterior spaces.
Supervision and Development of Third Mates, Engineers, and Deckhands.

Qualifications:
U.S. Coast Guard Mate's license: minimum 100T, desired license 1600T.

Basic marine engineering knowledge of diesel machinery, hydraulics, and liquid load management.
