Pros of working at Hurwitz & Fine

The staff, they are amazing, and work together as a great team to get through the crazy amount of tasks that are put on certain people.

Cons of working at Hurwitz & Fine

HR is a nightmare. The director treats the staff as though they are line workers and not professionals. There is a distinct line between staff and attorneys. Staff are not to be trusted and treated as such. Work from home is never an option for staff, but attorneys can pick whenever they want. Good at your job? You will become the dump zone. New employees are making more than people who have been there for a while. The idea of your job will change as the wind blows, and you will be nickel and dimed for every second you use.

Insurance was expensive for the HMO option, there is no way a family could afford it with the salary they are paying

What do you like best about Hurwitz & Fine's CEO and the leadership team?

She is a great listener, but doesn't really hear what you are saying. Attorneys are their top priority, staff leave in droves and they don't seem to see and understand why.

How would you improve Hurwitz & Fine's culture?

A new HR director, she is awful. In the time I was there, the number of people that she chased out of the company was astronomical. The board sees it, yet they continue to do nothing about it.

How did you prepare for the Hurwitz & Fine interview?

Reviewing company information. I wish i would have done more search into work culture. Not that every review can be 100%, there are 2 sides to every story, but a lot that is online about this company is spot on.

How does your compensation at Hurwitz & Fine compare to the industry average?

Below average. They will pay you the least that they can, and expect the most they can get for free.

The promote diversity, but have token people to make it seem as if they are diverse.

What brings you the most joy at Hurwitz & Fine?

The shame is I loved who I worked for and with. The problem was fixing things too little too late.
