SUMMARY : The Reliability/Project Engineer is responsible for the reliability and sustainability of new and existing equipment. Lead continuous improvement efforts as a technical resource to the operations team including equipment, process or product. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : Including but not limited to the following.
Analyzing equipment failure data to identify patterns and trends applying engineering principles to develop and implement countermeasures to prevent re-occurrence including develop/revise PM's with proper granularity and cadence.
Hands-on troubleshooting of equipment issues providing technical direction to maintenance, operations and contractors as required.
Devise PM strategies and spare parts lists as required.
Conducting root cause analysis to determine the underlying cause of problems on equipment in effort to maximize equipment uptime and throughput.
Developing and implementing new maintenance procedures and standard work for repair.
Designing and implementing new procedures for monitoring and testing equipment.
Research and recommend new technologies and processes that can improve equipment performance and reliability.
Manage a variety of capital and non-capital projects as the Project Manager or Project Lead. Utilizing fundamentals of project management, i.e. scope, specification, design review, budget and WBS/Schedule governed by change management. Knowledge of FEL process a plus.
Effectively communicate project expectations and status to team members and stakeholders in a clear and timely manner.
Effectively contribute to achieving departmental goals and KPI's (Uptime, MTTR, PM compliance, etc.)
Schedule contractors and manage day-to-day activities to complete projects on time
Implementing appropriate plans to improve profitability by maximizing efficiency to include waste, speed, delay, and raw material usage using Lean Manufacturing principles.
Be directly involved with continuous improvement teams, which may include being facilitator of a team or group of teams.
Procurement activities including writing RFQ's, obtaining bids, evaluating bids, making purchase recommendations and writing purchase requisitions.
Design countermeasures and engineering trials; verify effectiveness of corrective actions.
Extensive experience with Managing for Daily Improvement (MDI, aka Lean Mfg Visual Daily Management, Tier 1-4 Boards);
Extensive experience with Predictive & Preventive Maintenance programs including CMMS implementations, Machine Gemba walks and Daily/Weekly PM Planning work

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Interpret wiring diagrams, manufacturer's installation or service manuals, blueprints, product drawings, plant layouts, order flow and all commonly used documents in the facility.
Install, maintain, and repair equipment and machines as necessary (such as automatic controls and control panels, power, or lighting service lines) with necessary fixtures and components to ensure proper operation.
Maintain various types of machinery and electrical systems, including three-phase, controls, and DC equipment.
Measure, cut, align, thread, and assemble conduit for electrical systems.
Perform preventative maintenance services on equipment.
Determine and trace cause of malfunctioning or improper operation of equipment.
Operate crane and forklift as needed.
Education & Experience:
High School Diploma/GED required, additional education in industrial electrical systems from a college or trade school desired.
