Mr. Gingras has 18 years management and operational experience with international brands. Today he is responsible for HUYA Bioscience International’s presence in Asia, which includes oversight of operations in China and Japan and the engagement strategy for the wider region. Mr Gingras also directs the company’s IT and technology development, focusing on the growth of the HUYA compound database, the world’s most comprehensive portfolio of Chinese compounds. Prior to joining HUYA, Mr Gingras served in a range of international operational and leadership positions, including a decade at Ericsson, the global communications technology and services provider, where he led multi-market deployment projects across South, Central and North America. Mr. Gingras graduated from Concordia University where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Specialization Hydrology and a Computer Programming Post Graduate Certificate. Dr. Romano has provided scientific business development consulting services to a number of biotech companies. She was previously Director of Business Development at Novasite Pharmaceuticals, and she served in corporate development and drug discovery positions at Ontogen Corporation. Prior to that she was a member of the biotechnology product development group at Johnson & Johnson. Dr. Romano received a Ph.D. in Biology/Neurobiology from the University of California, San Diego and an A.B. in Biology from Princeton University.

Before being a Corporate Officer at Vical, he was Senior Vice President R&D at Valentis, Vice President of Research at GENEMEDICINE, Head of Pharmaceutics at the R&D Center of Galderma International (France) and a scientist at the Advanced Drug Delivery Research Center of Ciba Geigy (UK). Dr. Rolland received a Pharm.D, a Pharmacokinetics/Biopharmaceutics degree and a Ph.D. from the School of Pharmacy (Rennes, France). For his Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences, he invented and developed a novel nanotechnology for targeting anticancer drugs to the liver that was evaluated in a Phase 1-2 clinical trial for the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma. He has published over 90 scientific articles and book chapters, edited 3 scientific books and is a member of several scientific societies. He is the founding Editor-in-Chief of Current Pharmaceutical Biotechnology and an inventor of more than 20 international patents in advanced drug delivery systems, drug/gene targeting and formulation.
