This position may be hired at Level I or Level II, depending on experience, technical skillset, and demonstrated capability. Level II technicians take on more complex diagnostics, escalations, and advanced service work. What You'll Do (All Levels) Service and repair previously installed Renewal by Andersen windows and doors Diagnose warranty issues and determine appropriate corrective actions Take accurate measurements for repairs and replacements Analyze customer situations and verify corrective actions resolve the issue efficiently and cost-effectively Communicate service issues and solutions with internal teams Keep managers and team members informed of customer interactions and work completed Follow current product specifications, installation standards, safety protocols, and process updates Maintain organized service inventory and request material replenishment as needed Complete all Renewal by Andersen paperwork, forms, FSL App entries, and WOLIs accurately and on time (within required timelines) Portray a professional image through appearance, vehicle condition, and conduct in customers' homes Provide a high level of customer satisfaction and exceed customer expectations Adhere to work timelines, meet deadlines, and take ownership of responsibilities Perform other duties as assigned Level I - Warranty Service Technician Best suited for technicians building strong service fundamentals Key Expectations: Maintain 70-75% monthly NPS Working knowledge of Renewal by Andersen windows, doors, and warranty standards Efficiently diagnose standard warranty issues and implement proper solutions Replace essential service components (sashes, screens, hardware, panels) Use a caulk gun efficiently and follow Renewal by Andersen caulking protocols for basic window applications Perform basic interior service work and demonstrate a willingness to learn advanced techniques Safely establish fall protection and anchor points Cut and install Fibrex and L-Trim on basic window applications Properly and safely use power tools (chop saw, table saw, circular saw, reciprocating saw) Level II - Warranty Service Technician Advanced technician with deep diagnostic, service, and installation expertise Additional Expectations Beyond Level I: Maintain 75-85% monthly NPS Confidently manage escalated or complex homeowner situations Diagnose improper installations and identify corrective solutions Diagnose and resolve air and water intrusion issues Pull and reset full window and patio door units across all styles Demonstrate advanced knowledge of Renewal by Andersen installation techniques, including: Wood sash / wood pocket window applications Nail flange window applications Insulated glass units Hinged and gliding doors Use a metal brake and coil wrap effectively Perform basic window mulls Enforce and model all Renewal by Andersen safety protocols What We're Looking For High school diploma or equivalent experience Valid driver's license with an insurable driving record Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screen Two or more years of window installation or service experience preferred Basic knowledge of construction, carpentry, remodeling, framing, and building materials Ability to dismantle and reassemble windows, window coverings, and hardware Strong analytical problem-solving and decision-making skills Excellent interpersonal communication skills, including listening and empathy Ability to confidently and professionally handle conflict or confrontation Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Flexibility to adapt to schedule changes, work variable hours, and work overtime as needed Basic math skills and legible written communication Core Competencies Communication | Relationship Building | Teamwork | Planning & Organization | Integrity | Adaptability Physical & Work Environment This position requires regular field work in a variety of weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and wind. Essential Functions: ● Analyzes, repairs, and performs preventive maintenance on all HVAC installations, fire and boiler alarm and surveillance control systems (high and low pressure); defines and implements preventive maintenance programs for motors, steam condensate return traps, pumps, controls, compressors, auxiliary heating and cooling systems, and related devices; compiles reports for changes, including reporting costs, estimating values, and justifying changes; reviews work of construction; maintains air distribution and balance systems; adds chemicals and analyzes water treatment for chill water and heating systems; plans and installs auxiliary control systems; prepares system for winter carry-over and cold weather conditions; calibrates pipe and vent sizes; may design and install sheet metal; installs/inspects thermostats, and electrical wiring of furnaces, unit heaters, and cooling units; reviews new designs and concepts. ● Tests/maintains emergency electrical equipment such as generators and battery operated lighting; inspects and maintains specialized items; repairs switches and light fixtures; repairs broken pipes, fixes leaks. ● Assists other maintenance and crafts staff performing their duties; responds to emergency call-backs. ● May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
