As a Facilities Technician II, you will help ensure our manufacturing site operates safely, reliably, and efficiently by performing a wide range of facilities maintenance, repair, and preventative maintenance activities. This role supports key building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, compressed air, and general facility infrastructure. You will respond to service requests, troubleshoot equipment issues, support contractors, and assist with facility upgrades-all while working in a fast-paced, high-tech environment where uptime and safety are critical. Location: Photronics - Boise, Idaho (US). This is an on-site position, and we are not open to remote candidates at this time. Responsibilities Perform preventive maintenance and corrective repairs on building systems, utilities, and facility equipment (HVAC, electrical, lighting, plumbing, pumps, motors, fans, etc.). Troubleshoot and repair facility issues to minimize downtime and support manufacturing operations. Support cleanroom and controlled-environment facility needs, including monitoring and maintaining critical systems as assigned. Assist with monitoring building automation systems (BAS) and respond to system alarms or abnormal conditions. Complete work orders accurately and on time using the site's CMMS or maintenance tracking process. Support vendor/contractor coordination and ensure work is completed safely, to quality standards, and within scope. Perform inspections of facility equipment and identify opportunities for reliability improvements and repairs before failures occur. Assist with minor construction, equipment moves, and facility improvement projects as needed. Follow all safety procedures including lockout/tagout (LOTO), PPE requirements, and EHSS policies. Maintain accurate documentation including maintenance logs, checklists, repair records, and parts usage. Participate in on-call coverage or off-shift support as needed for facility emergencies and critical repairs. Additional responsibilities as assigned (DO NOT REMOVE THIS BULLET). Qualifications Strong working knowledge of general maintenance and facilities systems including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical repairs. Ability to troubleshoot equipment failures using a logical, safety-focused approach. Basic ability to read and understand technical manuals, drawings, schematics, and work instructions. Experience using hand tools, power tools, meters (multimeter), and other diagnostic equipment. Comfortable working in an industrial/manufacturing environment around equipment, utilities, and rotating schedules as needed. Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with Operations, Engineering, EHSS, and external contractors. Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement. Preferred Skills / Experience (Nice to Have) Prior experience supporting semiconductor, photomask, cleanroom, or other high-tech manufacturing environments. Knowledge of compressed air systems, chilled water systems, vacuum pumps, or facility utility distribution. Experience with preventative maintenance programs and CMMS systems. Familiarity with basic carpentry, painting, patching, and general building repairs. This position requires an EPA certificate or successful certification (in house) within 90 days of employment. Experience in handling “clean” copper pipe, handling and installation of refrigeration components, and brazing copper-to-copper, copper-to-brass and copper-to-stainless, vacuum testing, refrigerant filling of systems, and adjusting superheat settings. Must have experience with refrigeration systems, including but not limited to: Compressor types and applications Condenser types and applications Evaporator types and applications Refrigerant types, pressure ranges and appropriate transducers and switches Other refrigeration components such as expansion valves, liquid line solenoid valves, receivers, accumulators, etc. and work shop safety. Proper brazing techniques using different brazing alloys and piping materials (brazing certifications a plus) Familiarity with pumps and other hydronic components This person should be capable of piping layout without full shop drawings.
