Trains other installers, performs install work on more difficult situations, and assists the Field Supervisor or General Manager on work audits, site supervision, and work planning. Works under the direction of the Field Supervisor or General Manager. Key Responsibilities: • Works under the direction of the Field Supervisor or General Manager to install HVAC equipment and accessories in the customer's home • Installs heating, air conditioning, ventilation, and refrigeration equipment, as well as accessories, in accordance with company requirements and manufacture specifications. As needed, performs limited diagnostics. • Designs, fabricates, and installs various ducts and duct fittings as required • Performs start-ups on air conditioning and heating systems and other components • Delivers excellent customer service and sustains high levels of customer satisfaction. • Promotes products and services to the customer. Calls Sales and Service Coordinator with specifics on replacement product sales leads generated from customer service visit. • Responsible for delivery and removal of equipment needed to complete the installation work • Ensures company property, vehicles, and tools are being properly used, maintained, and accounted for • Completes all paperwork in a neat, accurate, thorough, and timely manner. Collects payment from customer • Represents the company professionally, honestly, and ethically in all business matters and concerns • Responsible for keeping installation vehicle clean and neat both inside and outside in keeping with the company's professional image • Follows standard procedures and process, ensures that the company vehicle is properly stocked, returns defective warranty parts to branch, and orders/replenishes vehicle stock as needed. May be responsible for completing material requisition forms and related administrative activities. • Assists the Field Supervisor or General Manager with site supervision, planning, and estimating • Assists the Field Supervisor or General Manager with completing quality audits on selected installations to ensure superior performance, quality, and customer satisfaction • Trains other installers in technical skills and company procedures, as assigned • Performs similar/other duties as needed or assigned Health & Safety Roles and Responsibilities · Reports any unsafe acts, conditions and hazards to direct supervisor/manager immediately · Reports any contravention of legislation or company policy, procedure or program to direct supervisor/manager immediately · Corrects substandard acts or conditions within area of control · Uses and maintains appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as prescribed by company program(s) or procedure(s) · Never removes or renders ineffective any safety guards, devices, or clothing prescribed to be in place or worn · Complies with the general rules as prescribed by company program(s) procedure(s) · Operates devices or equipment as prescribed by company program(s) or procedure(s) · Participates in any safety initiatives, teams, or committees · Reports all injuries or incidents as prescribed by company program(s) or procedure(s) immediately · Provides input on developing safety initiatives and plans to eliminate exposure that could cause accidents · Does not perform any act that may endanger the safety or well-being of others · Does not engage in any pranks, contests, or rough boisterous behavior · Works in compliance with applicable legislative requirement Qualifications: · High school diploma or GED with additional training and 5 plus years' experience in HVAC technical training certification required · Must possess all valid licensing or certification as required by federal, state, provincial, or local governmental laws or regulations for the geographical work area · EPA and safety certifications required · Proficient in the fundamentals of the operational functionality of heating, air conditioning, and ventilation equipment as well as related accessories · Advanced skills at installing heating, air conditioning, and ventilation equipment as well as related accessories · Proficient in the layout and installation requirements of duct work and duct fittings · Advanced mechanical aptitude and the ability to operate all necessary tools and equipment · Proficient and able to operate all necessary tools and equipment to perform various installation projects · Advanced skills at reading wiring diagrams and troubleshooting problems with electrical, refrigerant and duct systems on HVAC equipment · Proficient and able to properly start up and balance airflow and to properly align belts and pulleys on all systems with little to no supervision · Advanced skills installing electronic air cleaners, refrigeration systems, hot water systems, steam boiler systems, humidifiers, and related equipment with little to no supervision · Ability to calculate heat gain and loss on buildings using approved methods · Effective communication skills to communicate with customer and resolve customer issues, complaints, or concerns · Effective and efficient time-management and organizational skills · Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record · Available to work flexible hours and on-call shifts as needed · Ability to stand and walk and to climb ladders and attic stairs and to maneuver in attics, basements, and crawl spaces to access HVAC units. The Technician II is a vital member of the Easy Ice service team, responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of ice machines through proficient installation, cleaning, maintenance, and troubleshooting. The ideal Technician II is results-oriented, driven by a passion for delivering exceptional customer service, and possesses a strong work ethic that inspires collaboration and excellence among colleagues. The Technician II will focus on maximizing equipment lifespan, minimizing service calls and emergency ice purchases, and ultimately enhancing customer satisfaction and loyalty. Key responsibilities include providing outstanding service and support during on-site visits, forging positive relationships with customers, managing installation and repair tasks, accurately diagnosing and resolving technical issues, training and support of less experienced technicians, and completing detailed service reports to improve future service quality. The Technician II will also maintain proper truck stock and supplies during field operations, maintain company vehicles in accordance with established policies, and uphold the Easy Ice brand image with professionalism and positive engagement. The successful candidate will embody a flexible, self-motivated approach to work, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and be dedicated to fostering a strong team dynamic while contributing to overall business growth and success. A successful Technician II will drive the following outcomes: Deliver exceptional service that fosters positive relationships with customers, ensuring they are consistently satisfied with both the quality of service and the performance of their ice machines Perform thorough installation, repair, maintenance, cleaning, and troubleshooting of ice machines to improve their performance and longevity, thereby reducing the frequency of service calls and emergency ice purchases The Tech II may be required to lead the installation process, driving excellence by exceeding customer expectations with accurate, timely, and efficient installation of ice machine equipment Accurately diagnose and resolve technical issues on the first visit, minimizing downtime for customers and enhancing their overall experience Achieve or exceed performance metrics related to service response times, resolution rates, and customer feedback, demonstrating accountability and commitment to excellence Demonstrate flexibility in work schedules and adapt to changing operational demands while actively seeking opportunities for personal and professional growth within the field. How you will do it: The Technician II is a progression from Technician I. All levels of Technician - I, II, and III, are responsible for the installation, cleaning, preventative maintenance, trouble shooting, and repair of ice machine equipment as required. This may include bagging/delivering ice, or other duties as assigned. Install, clean, maintain, troubleshoot and install Easy Ice equipment, with the goal to increase equipment life and reliability, reduce service calls, and reduce emergency ice purchases Provide service and customer support during field visits with a strong emphasis on building positive relationships with customers Train and mentor less senior technicians as required Manage on-site installation, repair, maintenance and test tasks Diagnose errors or technical problems and determine proper solutions Communicate effectively with coworkers and customers to ensure all work orders and assignments are completed on time and per Easy Ice standard operating procedures Accurately document all actions performed during service visits by taking required photos, completing forms, reports, logs, and maintaining clear records of maintenance activities Ensure proper truck stock at all times, avoiding unnecessary return trips and delays in customer service Manage the pickup and delivery of ice as needed for service calls, ensuring timely and efficient service for customers Facilitate the processing of accurate payments from customers and assist in the proper shutdown or removal of equipment when necessary Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment in the shop when applicable by adhering to all safety protocols and cleanliness standards Ensure vehicle cleanliness and organization, removing all ice and trash at the end of each shift to improve safety and to uphold a professional appearance What we are look for: Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) Vocational/Technical Training preferred Experience: 1+ year experience in the diagnosis and repair of commercial equipment (prior experience with refrigeration, electrical, HVAC, ice machines, or related equipment) EPA 2 Certification Working knowledge of mobile tools and applications Experience in and the ability to demonstrate volt meter operations Ability to work a full-time schedule which includes a rotating on-call schedule Strong communication skills to effectively interact with customers and team members Problem solving abilities and a proactive approach to addressing repair and maintenance issues Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks to ensure service calls are completed in a timely manner Skills in maintaining organized records and documentation of service activities Demonstrated track record of delivering highest level of customer satisfaction Certificates, Licenses and Registrations: EPA 2 Certification Additional Required Attributes: High-energy individual with a positive attitude and strong commitment to customer satisfaction Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and service protocols in the field of ice machine repair and maintenance Strong work ethic and dedication to new technologies and service protocols in the field of ice machine repair and maintenance Work Environment and Physical Demands: The employee is often required to stand; walk; sit; use ladders; use hands to manipulate, handle, or feel surfaces, parts and tools; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl Occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds Stands for extended periods of time (6+ hours per day) While the noise level in the work environment is usually somewhat quiet, the worker may be subject to elevated noise levels Drive a vehicle for up to 60 percent of the hours worked Ability to work flexible shifts and adapt to changing work schedules The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by people assigned to this classification.
