Key Responsibilities:
Requires a thorough knowledge of general building maintenance with emphasis on electrical solving, including AC & DC circuits, high voltage (480), high amperage and some 400 cycle equipment
Requires experience in industrial wiring and the ability to read and follow wiring schematics and work without supervision
Journeyman electrical license a plus
Requires the ability to make low and high voltage repairs to all building electrical equipment
This includes solving, installation and repair of 110/220/480 volt single and multiphase electrical circuitry and devices

Ensures energy management and energy saving strategies are maintained and implemented properly and efficiently;
Monitors and inspects construction projects and contract work to ensure compliance with contractual agreements and with national, state and local code requirements;
Inspects work in progress and upon completion for conformance with prescribed specifications and safety standards;
Maintains records of work performed and parts and materials used;
Maintains records of equipment failures and repairs;
Orders parts for emergency and routine repairs;

Employment Standards
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Any combination of education, experience, and training equivalent to the following: High school diploma or G.E.D. issued by a state department of education; Plus a two-year technical degree in air conditioning functions such as heating, cooling and ventilating, and five years of progressively responsible air conditioning or HVAC experience; or completion of an apprentice-level vocational training program in air conditioning; plus three years of progressively responsible air conditioning or HVAC experience.
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIRED:
Valid driver's license;
Valid HVAC journeyman license from the state of Virginia;
Universal refrigerant recovery license.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

How You'll Contribute:
The installation technician is responsible for performing a wide variety of installation duties on technology projects for our clients. This position is the key field position for the bulk of the actual work that gets done in our clients buildings. The install tech needs to coordinate with project management, field superintendents and others to fully understand their role on specific projects. They interpret our drawing packages to create the basis of the finished systems. What You'll Do:
Perform structured cabling installation: pull, terminate, label, and dress cables per project documentation and standards.
Complete physical installation and wiring of AV devices (displays, speakers, microphones, cameras, control interfaces, etc.).
Assemble, populate, and dress equipment racks with a high degree of workmanship and adherence to design documents.
Solder and terminate connectors according to project specifications and accepted industry practices.
Execute light physical construction tasks as required (e.g., blocking, mounting surfaces, hardware installation).
Follow Diversified's installation procedures, quality guidelines, and safety protocols with minimal deviation.
Maintain accurate daily records: timesheets, daily field reports, checklists, and as-built documentation.

Complexity:
This level of technician will be responsible for performing tasks on clients job sites with little supervision. On smaller projects this position may be responsible for the coordination with clients, contractors and subcontractors.
Decision Making Authority:
This position is often alone on the job sites and requires making good judgement about decisions that need to be made. In general the project manager and a site supervisor are available to answer questions. This position requires good diplomacy in working with our clients and other key stakeholders on the job sites.

Conducts extensive self-study (reading, research and practice) to improve and maintain technical proficiency in company's product lines. Completes certifications as required by the company.
Other duties related to the installing, commissioning and servicing of building controls and facilities management systems and energy management systems, as assigned.
Assists in the design and configuration of building control systems as defined by the contract documents. Creates flow diagrams, sequence of operations, and bill of material, network layouts and electrical schematics as required.

The installation technician is responsible for performing a wide variety of installation duties on technology projects for our clients. This position is the key field position for the bulk of the actual work that gets done in our clients buildings. Assemble, populate, and dress equipment racks with a high degree of workmanship and adherence to design documents.
Solder and terminate connectors according to project specifications and accepted industry practices.
Execute light physical construction tasks as required (e.g., blocking, mounting surfaces, hardware installation).
