About the Opportunity:
The Washington County Sheriff's Office is recruiting for Jail Services Technician Ipositions. In this role, you will perform a variety of administrative jail services dutiesrequiring extensive adults in-custody contactrelated to booking and custody support functions. This position will also perform tasks associated with electronically monitoring and controlling jail access and adults in custody movements within the county jail.

Jail Services Technician II($31.21 - $39.86 hourly): After two (2) years of experience monitoring inmate activities and completion of the Sheriff's Office internal Field Training and Education Program (FTEP), as well as receiving a certification as a fully qualified "Jail Services Technician", you will be eligible to advance to a Jail Services Technician II position.
This position works within a 24-hour per day, 7-days-per-week facility. Jail Services Technician I and II positions MUST be available to work all assigned shifts including day, swing, and/or graveyard schedules on any day of the week, and MUST be willing to work on holidays and weekends.

Performs a wide variety of specialized administrative correction's services such as: interviewing inmates to acquire booking and classification information; books and verifies charges, sentencing, and classification documents are accurate and complete, and determines appropriate placement of inmates in jail facilities and programs.
Assesses possible safety risks posed by inmates. Electronically monitors and controls access to all security perimeter entry/departure points and internal movement doors from the main control room or from maximum security pod living quarters within the secured perimeter of the jail; and electronically monitors selected areas within the jail perimeter via closed circuit television surveillance.
May be assigned to conduct special assignments such as, needs assessments and risk evaluations to determine where and under what conditions inmates should be housed. Evaluates and determines particular needs of individual inmates; requests criminal records from Law Enforcement Database (LEDS); reviews reports regarding inmate behavior and makes classification decisions based on information obtained. Performs inmate classification reviews and reclassifications as necessary.
Prepares, enters, and updates custody information in custody management system; updates inmate custody and release date information based upon work credits, good behavior credits, disciplinary sanctions, and enrollment or termination from work credit eligible programs to ensure inmate release dates are current and accurate. Prepares court docket information and files for court appearances.
Assists in creating a positive and supportive work environment; enforces a safe workplace; establishes a culture of teamwork and communication; creates a workplace that promotes the organizational values of workplace diversity, equity, and inclusion; and actively promotes an environment respectful of living and working in a multicultural society. Electronically monitors complex public safety radio frequencies and serves as the central point of contact for all internal communications from sworn personnel on mobile radios, telephones, or intercoms. Communicates with sworn personnel regarding inmate housing movement within the jail; monitors and dispatches officers in response to alarms; and performs dispatch duties for jail operations.
Oversees inmate property storage and release; maintains control of a variety of jail equipment, key, and clothing inventories; and issues equipment and keys to jail line staff at each shift change. Inventories and accounts for all keys and equipment issued through master control; and retrieves and inspects returned Items for serviceability and completeness.
Performs administrative duties related to jail visitation; monitors visitor reception, inmate visitation, and jail sally port areas; and maintains shift and emergency incident logs. Makes notifications to staff and agencies, as required, by operational and emergency checklists and, as directed, by supervisors or incident commanders.
Establishes and maintains accurate records and files for proper documentation.

Working Conditions and Environment:
Employees in this classification work in a variety of indoor security settings for a 24-hour-facility, which includes restricted access control centers, property storage rooms, public access lobby or open area where inmates are processed into the jail. Work is often near other people with little space between self and others resulting in an environment with increased exposure to communicable diseases, and sound or noise levels that can be distracting and uncomfortable. Positions in this classification involve a high level of social interaction, includingdaily contact with adults in custody, jail staff, contracted service providers, and members of the public.Interaction with adults in custody and members of the public includes encountering individuals who can potentially be angry or unpleasant.

Pay Rate: $30.00 to $35.00 per hour + Spiffs
Work hours: Monday through Friday, 7:30am to 5:00pm with overtime as needed

Completing all work orders in Service Factor as calls are completed
Qualifications / Skills:
2 + years' HVAC experience
Annual maintenance experience required
Valid driver's license with insurable driving record
Universal EPA Certification
Low Voltage license desired
Familiar with a wide range of equipment and troubleshooting techniques
Able to talk with customers concerning repair and replace decisions
Impeccable customer service skills
Willingness to attended training classes and seminar including NATE Certifications
Exceptional safety knowledge of tools, testing devices and surroundings
High school diploma or its equivalent

What Will You Do?Job Purpose Statement
To ensure proper maintenance of all facility and restaurant equipment and train operational personnel on proper use and maintenance of equipment. Trouble-shoot, repair, and/or replace equipment, store systems, and/or perform other repairs necessary with designated company guidelines. Observe, evaluate, and determine the need to subcontract for repairs and/or replace equipment based on time and cost effectiveness.
Job Functions
Repair all equipment and prescribed physical facility items in a timely and high quality manner according to company standards, policies, and procedures. Repairs include but are not limited to restaurant and commercial cooking equipment, ice/beverage equipment, refrigeration equipment, building control systems, exhaust and fresh air systems, drive-thru audio systems, HVAC systems, minor electrical systems and circuits, minor plumbing systems including hot water heaters, and minor building repairs.
Maintain and account for truck stock inventory, including the accurate charging and billing of items used for repairs.
Maintain, account for and secure all tools, equipment, supplies, and materials on-site, purchased, ordered, replaced, or discarded.
Respond and assist as needed in staffing shortages, new equipment rollouts, emergencies, natural disasters, training, etc., outside of assigned region.
Complete all administrative requirements of the position in a timely and accurate manner. Use lap top and/or hand held computer to log in calls, time, and nature of repair at each designated site. Enter ongoing data into lap top/hand held computer regarding location and repairs anticipated, completed, ongoing, parts purchase and time arrived, on-site, and completed.
Inspect, maintain, and perform daily maintenance on company van to assure proper running condition to respond to calls quickly with minimum interruption 24/7.
Alert Senior Service Tech of any service repairs needing assistance, technically, mechanically, and physically. Use house or cell phones to communicate with Senior Service Tech as needed.
Consistently exhibit the actions/behaviors which best demonstrate BNE's Vision and Values; perform other tasks as directed by management; and always represent Boddie-Noell Enterprises, Inc. as a professional in every aspect of teamwork and performance.
NOTE: EPA Universal Certification or EPA Type 1 and 2 Certification required. Basic knowledge of Heating/AC required.
