Purpose:
Performs mobile pre-delivery inspections and on-site equipment diagnostics, service, repair, and maintenance work in line with the service programs. May require some direction or guidance from the Service Manager or Location Manager.
Responsibilities:
o Performs on-site service on all makes of Turf and small Agricultural equipment.
o Actively promotes and sells dealership specific mobile service programs directly to customers
o Coordinates with Service Manager or Location Manager to establish and implement effective processes for all Turf and small Agricultural services offered through dealership specific service programs
o Reviews and explains any maintenance, repair or other service concerns directly with the customer and documents on work order
o Establishes and implements effective stocking processes with the Parts department to maintain the proper seasonal parts inventory in the vehicle
o Participates in Service EDUCATE Training programs required for the development of skills and knowledge
o Maintains current knowledge of John Deere and competitive products
o Maintains condition of mobile service vehicle, trailer, inventory, tools and equipment
o Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments
o Completes all reports and forms required in conjunction with work assignments
o Accounts for all time and material used in performing assigned duties
o Responsible for other duties as assigned by your manager

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Responsible for the installation, inspection, testing, dismantlement and repairs to all types of heating, ventilating, air conditioning, and related equipment including refrigeration compressors, pumps, condensers, air handling units, cooling towers and associated controls, wiring and piping.
2. Locate source of trouble in any type of HVAC equipment by testing and inspecting for mechanical or electrical failure. Dismantle, inspect, repair, replace, or adjust faulty parts, piping, and control wiring on HVAC equipment such as cooling towers, air handling units, heating and chilling coils, condensers, pumps, refrigeration compressors, filters, and controls. Reassemble, test, and adjust equipment to obtain proper operating characteristics. Clean, paint and secure equipment for optimum operation. Make all necessary mechanical repairs to equipment being serviced. Make all mechanical tests required. Make necessary filter changes on schedule or as required. Fabricate parts, as required using machine and hand tools common to the trade.
3. Receive drawings, diagrams, specifications, and instructions covering the schedules and emergency repair, installation and inspection work to be performed. Inspect and test all HVAC and related equipment to determine extent to damage and the nature of repairs required. Analyze all types of drawings, wiring, and pneumatic schematic to determine material or replacement need, and assembly specifications and methods. Plan details of working procedure and determine tools and materials required. Select a logical approach to “troubleshooting” and repair problems. Answer trouble calls.
4. Consider all safety precautions and plan work to cause a minimum interference of operations. Plan and perform work requiring a thorough working knowledge of mechanical and electrical principles, HVAC principles, and principles of operations and application of equipment, etc. Maintain performance and maintenance records of HVAC equipment.
5. Utilization of equipment and tools to maintain HVAC systems including Coil cleaning machine, tube puncher, chiller bundle jetter, torches, ,Die injection, Voltmeter and Pressure gauges for gases.
6. Perform all levels of preventative, corrective and emergency maintenance on building equipment as required or needed. Must be able to troubleshoot control issues and load programs.

Customer-focused responsibilities in this position require someone who is decisive, tactful, dependable, and able to take initiative. Strong communication skills are essential when working with a wide range of residential and commercial customers. The Service Technician must be able to accurately diagnose issues and complete work efficiently, ensuring positive outcomes for both the customer and TRS Heating & Air Conditioning.
This role interacts with customers across all demographics as well as team members throughout the company, including fellow technicians, the Service Manager, Dispatcher, and Parts Runners.
Representative Duties Include:
Servicing and installing a wide range of HVACR equipment, including air conditioners, furnaces, boilers, natural gas generators, fireplaces, tankless water heaters, and heat pumps.
Performing Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) services and installing related components and add-on systems.
Working on rooftop units (experience preferred but not required).
Identifying and generating lead referrals for the sales team.
Completing other related tasks as assigned by the Service Manager.
Qualifications:
High school graduate.
510 years of HVACR experience in service and/or installation.
Strong verbal, reading, and communication skills; able to follow manufacturer instructions and interact professionally with customers, suppliers, and coworkers.
Basic computer skills and the ability to work in a rotating on-call schedule.
Physically capable of performing all duties in varying conditions, including extreme Buffalo weather.
Commitment to ongoing learning through self-study, company training, and manufacturer workshops.
Valid New York State drivers license (must be able to operate company vehicles within 30 days) and insurability under TRSs policy.
Ability to work efficiently under time pressure, changing schedules, weather challenges, customer needs, and workload fluctuations.
