ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Maintaining the physical school plant in a condition of operating excellence so that full educational use of it may be made at all times.
Responsible for the safe condition of boilers, heaters, furnaces, exhaust fans, air handlers, air conditioners and chillers in the facilities owned or operated by the District.
Perform heating and cooling repair work as assigned in a timely manner.
Perform the routine maintenance of HVAC systems in District facilities.
Recommend supplies and equipment for purchase and in maintaining the inventory of District-owned tools, equipment, and supplies.
Examine District owned and operated facilities on a regular basis for purposes of preventive maintenance and safety, which includes greasing motors, changing belts, cleaning coils and changing filters on a regular basis.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:
Work as needed on snow removal to get a building ready for operation, which may include early morning, late night, weekend, or holiday work.
Works in extreme weather conditions such as winter cold or summer heat as needed. Take appropriate precautions in such conditions to ensure personal safety such as wearing appropriate clothing and taking appropriate water breaks.
Attend meetings as requested by supervisors or district administration.
Work overtime as requested by supervisors or district administration.
Be respectful and courteous to parents, students and staff.
Dress and grooming should be appropriate. Wear proper uniform and name badge.
Read and respond to email in a timely manner.
Complete all required training.

This includes repairs to trailer components such as lighting, tires, wheel bearings, axles, decking, and hitches, along with basic carpentry and corrosion control as needed.

The technician must comply with all relevant federal and state laws, including NEC, DOT, EPA, OSHA/EOSH regulations, and FAA Orders and Directives. Occasional travel with per diem provided. Education/Qualifications

Completion of an accredited HVAC training program or technical school preferred.

Experience with commercial HVAC systems strongly preferred.
Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and general building maintenance.
