Perform system diagnostics and optimize building performance through automation. Provide technical support and training to service technicians and customers on BAS functionalities. Maintain accurate documentation of service activities, backups and system configuration records. Ensure compliance with company and industry standards for safety and quality. Ability to mentor and train service technicians in all branches on BAS operation and maintenance. Train end users onsite on BAS operation and maintenance. Stay current with BAS technologies, control strategies, and energy efficiency practices. Assist with sales strategies to grow the controls business for all branches. Niagara 4 Certification and proven hands-on experience in BAS programming and commissioning. The HVAC Installation/Repair Senior Technician performs duties related to the installation, operation, inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of a complex portfolio of university HVAC and chilled water systems to ensure occupant comfort, space pressurization, improve system efficiency, and reduce facility operating costs. The systems maintained by this position include: rooftop package units, split systems, VRF systems, refrigeration systems for coolers and freezers, chillers, cooling towers, pumps, controls and various other refrigeration systems such as small appliances and ice machines. To ensure success as a senior HVAC technician, you should have advanced knowledge of HVAC and refrigeration systems, excellent mechanical skills, and troubleshooting skills. Required Qualifications • Must have or be able to obtain a Journeyman's or Masters license in HVAC or Electrical, within eleven months of hire date; OR current Journey or Master level licensing agreement (reciprocity) from another jurisdiction as approved by the Virginia Board for Contractors.
