Key Responsibilities:
Requires a thorough knowledge of general building maintenance with emphasis on electrical solving, including AC & DC circuits, high voltage (480), high amperage and some 400 cycle equipment
Requires experience in industrial wiring and the ability to read and follow wiring schematics and work without supervision
Journeyman electrical license a plus
Requires the ability to make low and high voltage repairs to all building electrical equipment
This includes solving, installation and repair of 110/220/480 volt single and multiphase electrical circuitry and devices
You should also have some experience in related building equipment and trades, such as air handling units, plumbing and steam fitting, fire systems and conveyors
Facilities Technicians must be able to work around the clock shifts, including weekends and holidays, in the outdoors in all weather conditions
Schedules are bid and awarded according to seniority
Facilities Technicians are represented by the International Brotherhood of Teamsters (IBT)
Salary increases will be administered according to the current IBT/United contract
New employees are required to join the union within ninety (90) days of employment
There is an initiation fee for joining the union and subsequent monthly union dues which are set by the Local Lodge

Adjust, disassemble and/or repair this equipment safely utilizing such tools as ammeters, voltmeters, recorders, refrigeration gauges, tube benders, gas detectors, velometers, manometers, PH analyzer, psychrometer, etc.
Regulate and maintain air handling systems for various clean rooms and office and shop areas of the plant. Obtain traverse or other readings as appropriate to make necessary electronic and mechanical adjustments to ensure proper balance and operation of all heating air conditioning systems. Advise supervisor and facility engineers of system malfunctions and work with engineers in making design changes if necessary.
Obtain, delivery and move material, tools and equipment from one location to another, utilizing appropriate material handling equipment such as company vehicles, for trucks, hand cards, etc. as required. Perform a variety of routine maintenance functions such as cleaning equipment and facilities, painting, grounds work, lubricating, moving and relocating equipment and furnishings, changing/installing lamps and filters, receiving fuel oil deliveries, sampling outfalls, performing chemical treatment of water systems, visually inspecting equipment and faculties, working on ladders, scaffolding, rigging and the like.
Utilize computerized data management systems as necessary to maintain records on equipment preventive maintenance and repairs. Report any problems or unsafe conditions to supervision. Perform other miscellaneous duties which may fall within the scope of this position.

Perform general facility maintenance duties as needed, which may include tasks such as inspecting and cleaning roof drains, checking and clearing floor drains, inspecting drinking fountains, removing minor debris, replacing ceiling tiles, or responding to basic service calls outside of HVAC scope.
Qualifications:
Shall possess at least five (5) years of recent experience maintaining and repairing commercial or institutional HVAC/R systems.
Active TS/SCI security clearance and government suitability screening.
Universal EPA 608 Certification required.
Valid Master HVAC license in Washington, DC, Virginia, or Maryland.
Proficient in mechanical/electrical troubleshooting, refrigerant handling, and BAS/DDC operations.
Ability to read technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and service manuals.
Experience servicing Computer Room Air Conditioning (CRAC) units preferred.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, use ladders, and work in confined or elevated areas.
Strong documentation, time management, and communication skills.
HVAC trade certification or technical school completion preferred.
