Role Overview:
The Refrigeration Maintenance Mechanic will ensure the safe and efficient operation, perform preventative maintenance tasks, conduct inspections, testing, troubleshooting, and repairs of the manufacturing plant's refrigeration system, boiler system, air compressors, and hot water system.
In this position you will:
Assure that all safety precautions and health hazards with ammonia are followed per Tyson requirements.
Ensure compliance with state, federal and local agencies, including but not limited to OSHA and the EPA.
Maintain, inspect, troubleshoot and repair the following:
HOWDEN, SULLAIR, & MYCOM Ammonia Compressors, condensers, valve stations.
Heat exchangers, pump packages, liquid ammonia pumps
Air units, refrigeration PLC and all control components.
Boilers
Air Compressors
Hot Water System
Maintain these components in the best operating condition to provide adequate temperatures required by Food Industry Standards.
Participate as an Emergency Response Team Member.

Install all products and services included in the work order, troubleshoot, and strive to resolve any installation problems that might occur on-site
If it's not possible to safely perform a quality service or installation on the date promised, effectively note all issues, and required materials necessary to complete the installation to the customer's satisfaction at a later date.
Communicate with relevant team members regarding incomplete work, ensuring that any new materials are ordered, the cause of the go-back can be discerned, and that customer expectations can be managed accordingly.
Take care of the customer's home/business, ensuring we leave it cleaner than when we found it.
Close out the installation by walking customer through the care and maintenance of products, walk them through warranty (if applicable) and how to contact us if they ever need service or have additional questions

Qualifications & Educational Requirements:
Minimum 2 years glass installation / glazier experience.

Receive service calls from Service Resource Center, including a brief description of equipment/system malfunctions.
Contact customer representative and ascertain equipment/systems problems.

Required knowledge and skills
A. Neat in personal appearance.
B. Possess valid Kansas driver's license.
C. Must be mechanically inclined.
D. Must be able to lift 75 pounds without any limitations.
E. Ability to climb, stoop, bend and work in awkward positions.
F. Must be able to follow oral and written instructions and work independent from direct supervision.
G. Must have basic knowledge of computer fundamentals.
H. Must be qualified to drive college vehicles, including large vans and trucks. I. Show personal pride in workmanship.
J. Maintain good working relationship with college/community persons and trades.
K. Must be able to work overtime and weekends for emergencies or events

Minimum of 2-3 years of general maintenance experience (trade related).
