We're looking for a skilled Toolmaker to join our growing team in Amherst, NH. In this hands-on role, you'll design, build, and maintain high-precision tooling that keeps our production operations running smoothly and efficiently.Key Responsibilities: Independently design and fabricate trim dies, tooling, and precision components. Perform tight-tolerance machining using manual and CNC lathes, mills, and surface grinders. Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and solid models to create accurate and functional tooling. Program CNC machining centers and ensure all tooling meets design and quality standards. Recommend tooling materials and finishing processes based on metallurgical knowledge. Manage repair and maintenance of existing tools to ensure optimal performance. Collaborate with Engineering to design and develop tooling and equipment upgrades that reduce cost and improve productivity. Maintain documentation in compliance with ISO/TS-16949 standards. Support production operations with timely fabrication and repair work. Qualifications: Completion of an accredited apprenticeship program and 3-5 years of toolmaking experience, or Associate degree/certificate in machining or tooling with 5-7 years of increasing experience, or 8-10 years of progressive experience in a toolroom environment. Strong working knowledge of toolmaking, machining, and tool design principles. Experience programming and operating CNC equipment. Understanding of heat treatment, tempering, and metallurgy. Excellent attention to detail, safety-conscious, and self-motivated. Work Environment: You'll thrive in a hands-on, collaborative shop setting.
