Hwc Engineering company history timeline

1989

1989 – David Hannum and Ralph Wagle collaborate to offer civil engineering services to clients as Hannum & Wagle Engineering in Terre Haute, Indiana.

1995

1995 – Michael Cline joins the firm as partner and the firm name changes to Hannum, Wagle & Cline Engineering.

1997

1997 – HWC opens the Indianapolis office.

2000

2000 – HWC opens an office in Scottsburg, Indiana.

2001

2001 – HWC receives the Indiana University Kelley School of Business Top 100 Growth Award for the second consecutive year.

2003

2003 – HWC receives an Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) contract to conduct a Phase 2 Environmental Study, also known as “section six of seven”, for the proposed extension of Interstate 69 from Indianapolis to Evansville, Indiana.

2004

2004 – HWC receives the Indiana University Kelley School of Business Top 100 Growth Award for the third time.

2005

2005 – HWC is recognized as a finalist for the 2005 Indiana Entrepreneurial Award of Distinction for their growth, innovation and willingness to take calculated risks.

2007

2007 – HWC’s professional corporate staff exceeds 55 people across the four offices.

2007 – HWC is recognized as a national finalist in ACEC’s 2007 Engineering Excellence Awards program.

2009

2009 – Ed Jolliffe joins the firm as President of HWC.

2011

2011 – HWC acquires Floyd E. Burroughs & Associates and an office in Noblesville, Indiana.

2012

2012 – HWC ranks 18th on the Indianapolis Business Journal’s list of Largest Indianapolis-Area Engineering Firms.

2013

2013 – A management group led by President and CEO Ed Jolliffe and Executive Vice President Terry Baker acquire majority interest in HWC Engineering.

2014

2014 – HWC ranked 15th on the Indianapolis Business Journal’s list of Largest Indianapolis-Area Engineering Firms.

2015

2015 – HWC received two State Finalist Awards for Engineering Excellence from the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) of Indiana for Seashore Waterpark in Lebanon, Indiana and the Village Promenade in Muncie, Indiana.

2016

2016 – HWC was named a Top Place to Work in Indiana by the Indiana Chamber of Commerce.

2017

2017 – HWC was named a Top Place to Work in Indiana by the Indiana Chamber of Commerce.

2018

2018 – HWC was named a Top Place to Work in Indiana by the Indiana Chamber of Commerce.

2019

2019 – HWC was named a Top Place to Work in Greater Louisville by Louisville Business First
