Education and Experience

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE: To provide customer service and department cleaning duties. To perform meat cutting, food preparation, stocking and product rotation. To contribute toward ensuring a positive shopping environment for customers and a positive working environment for employees.
NATURE AND SCOPE: Emphasis in this position is to meet daily customer service needs. Primary learning challenge is learning and retail cutting techniques for all meat and seafood cuts, proficiency with the saw and merchandising techniques. ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS

As a Deli Kitchen Clerk you focus on upholding the highest standards of quality of all food produced by the Deli Kitchen, supporting the overall goals and success of the daily operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Complete prep work for various areas of the Deli, including but not limited to Panini/Sandwich Prep, Packer, Prep Cook, and Salad Bar Production.
Follow and complete daily production sheets.
Aid with preparation of products according to the Company's specifications and recipes.
Wash, soak, cut, peel and chop ingredients by hand or machine.
Package, weigh, and label products, using the Cry-O-Vac (ROP) when appropriate.
Consistently check and record all food temperatures in proper logs.
Accurately practice FIFO product rotation to minimize and control spoilage and waste.
Organize, rotate, and stock workstation and department supplies. (e.g. product ingredients, paper goods & packaging products, etc.)
Clean and sanitize work areas, utensils, and equipment. (e.g. floors, counters, windows, workstations, etc.)
Operation of equipment. (e.g. stoves, fryers, oven , etc.)
Answers phones and pages promptly and courteously.
Follow and comply with established procedures, including Weights and Measures, health and sanitation and safe work practices.
Immediately reports safety hazards and violations to supervisors.
Performs opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned.
Works all scheduled shifts and attends required trainings and meetings.
Other duties as assigned by supervisors.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
18+ years old.
Basic knowledge of Oliver's kitchen recipes.
Basic cooking/grilling skills.
Demonstrates proper food handling and safety procedures.
Team-player who can also work independently with minimal supervision.
Clear and effective communication style, both written and verbal.
Ability to follow directions and established procedures with attention to detail.
