JCC of Salt Lake City company history timeline

1959

The building of a new Jewish Community Center was delayed by the Korean War and was not completed until 1959.

1970

Efforts over several years by leaders of both congregations led to a successful merger of the two in 1970.

1994

2011

He was the first non-Mormon and only Jew to be elected governor of Utah. It was published in the Jewish Daily Forward in 2011.
