Job Summary

POSITION SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Dean of Math and Sciences and the Department Head of Science, the full-time faculty member has as their chief duty the instruction of Human Anatomy & Physiology. Anatomy & Physiology faculty teach classes that are scheduled during the day or evening, taught in a variety of formats (online asynchronous, on-ground, and virtual synchronous) and terms (15 and 7-weeks) and at several different locations, including off-campus sites and local high schools. The faculty member is expected to facilitate the classroom instructional process, evaluate students, monitor and communicate progress to students and to the appropriate college staff members, utilize the Learning Management System (LMS) and appropriate online educational systems, assign mid-term and final grades, maintain attendance and grade records, counsel and advise students regarding academic preparation and career goals, work to retain students, maintain required classroom, and office hours.

Preferred Qualifications:

An instructor in this position will plan and teach Psychology courses in the format needed by the department, which may include face-to-face/traditional or online delivery. Duties
1. Teach Psychology courses and supervise students in the instructional format needed by the department, which may include face-to-face, hybrid, or online modalities. Courses may be offered during the day, evening, or weekends, depending on departmental needs. 2. Some off-campus teaching may be required (Madison site, Enka site, high school sites, etc.).
Minimum Requirements
MUST MEET ALL OF THE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS IN ORDER TO BE CONSIDERED : 1. Masters' degree with at least 18 graduate semester hours in Psychology (transcript must specify Psychology for those 18 hours); 2. At least one year of successful teaching experience at the college level;
Preferred Qualifications
1. At least one years of recent college teaching experience.
Teach General Chemistry and/or Preparatory Chemistry lectures and/or labs. Teach lecture and/or lab sections of General Chemistry and/or Preparatory Chemistry. Use Moodle as the course learning management system. Teach lectures and/or labs in a variety of times/formats, depending upon need. (Day or evening. Seated, hybrid or online.) Supervise students in the classroom and lab settings. Maintain lab safety. Maintain accurate attendance and grading records. Adhere to policies, procedures, expectations, and practices of the College, division, department, and discipline. Communicate clearly with students, faculty and staff.
Minimum Requirements
Master's degree in Chemistry or Master's degree in a related area with at least 18 graduate semester hours in Chemistry.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous college teaching experience. (Can include Teaching Assistant (TA) experience while earning a degree.) Experience with Moodle or another course learning management system (Moodle). Experience with MasteringChemistry or another online homework platform.
