Our Mechanical and Plumbing team provides a wide variety of services to the water and wastewater industry, municipal, government, federal, educational facilities, commercial, and private practice clients. As a mechanical engineer, you will leverage your technical experience to successfully execute and deliver projects from inception to successful start-up and turnover. In this role, you will work with multi-discipline and highly interactive teams to deliver study, design, and construction phase services to our clients. To be successful in this role, you should demonstrate strong leadership abilities, interpersonal skills, communication skills, teamwork, and organizational skills.
Responsibilities:
* Serve as HVAC & plumbing engineer for facilities, pump stations, treatment plants, and drainage structures
* Perform design and review calculations of others and seal drawings and reports, understand basic HVAC and plumbing design principles and sign documents per the state board of Professional Engineers sealing regulations and industry standard of care
* Ability to work independently and mentor junior staff
* Maintain effective communication with client, client's staff, regulatory agencies and within project teams
* Participate in business development activities including engineering scope and fee preparation and proposal preparation
* Eagerly, earnestly, and proactively seek answers and assistance necessary to perform tasks and meet deadlines within budget
* Occasional travel to client sites
Qualifications

Maintain and utilize working knowledge of accepted engineering design standards and practices in the execution of design work that will meet the client's needs and conform to firm standards.

Work toward keeping current tasks within schedule and budget to fit the needs of the project.
Provide input and coordination with other departments.

Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership & Supervision - Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of municipal engineers, providing guidance, technical support, and professional development opportunities.
Project Oversight - Oversee the preparation of engineering documents for municipal projects, including plans, specifications, and cost estimates for roadway, drainage, sewer, water, parks, and athletic fields improvements.

Field Inspections & Assessments - Conduct or oversee field inspections of infrastructure projects to ensure compliance with design standards and local regulations.

Client Relations & Communication - Cultivate strong relationships with municipal clients, offering proactive communication and problem-solving expertise to ensure client satisfaction.
Qualifications:
B.S in Civil Engineering or related field.
10+ years of experience in Civil Engineering, including project management for design and construction projects.
Must have Professional Engineer (PE) license. Professional Planner (PP) license a plus.
Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
Experience in reviewing applications for Land Use Boards with availability for Municipal (Land Use Board, Council and/or Committee) night meetings.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to organize and manage multiple projects.
Ability to work in a team environment, self-starter, demonstrated organization skills, team player and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities of this position include the following:
* You will assist with developing master planning and integrated water planning studies for municipal and county clients across Florida. These studies could also include asset management and financial services (such as impact fees and rate studies).
* You will engage Freese and Nichols' national and local technical experts (master planning, funding, design, treatment, etc.) to support client needs.
* You will provide hydraulic modeling and planning support for utility design projects.
* Additionally, you will be asked to assist with sales and marketing efforts and proposal development activities.

* Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering (or equivalent)
* Florida Professional Engineer (PE), or the ability to become licensed in Florida within 6 months
* 5+ years of hydraulic modeling and/or master planning experience in the water/wastewater/reuse sector
* Expertise with hydraulic modeling software, such as Autodesk products (InfoWater Pro, InfoWorks ICM SE, InfoSewer, InfoSWMM, InfoAsset Planner), Bentley products (WaterGEMS, SewerGEMS) and/or Aquanuity products (AquaTwin Water, AquaTwin Sewer)
* Familiarity with GIS applications in water, wastewater, and reuse planning

Qualifications
