    PURPOSE The Jewish Board's Community Behavioral Health treatment programs provide compassionate, high quality, evidence-based services to individuals and families in the communities we serve. Our staff uses a culturally competent, person centered approach to help individuals and their families develop skills and resources to improve overall functioning, to instill hope, and to strengthen resiliency. Our programs work closely with community partners to address health disparities in our neighborhoods while also celebrating the strengths and resilience of our communities. POSITION OVERVIEW: CFTSS Clinical services are provided to children/youth and are intended to help identify and prevent the progression of behavioral health needs through early identification and intervention. Services may be provided to children/youth in need of assessment for whom behavioral conditions have not yet been diagnosed or to youth with a diagnosis for whom flexible community-based treatment is needed to correct or ameliorate a developmental delay or problem in functioning or capacity for healthy relationships. The clinician conducts a comprehensive assessment to determine if children/youth are eligible for CFTSS, makes recommendations regarding which CFTSS services are to be provided, and completes a treatment plan, which serves as a rehabilitative service package to support a child and family whose needs may be complex and/or require flexible nontraditional approaches. We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and proactive therapist to join our team, providing high-quality behavioral health services to individuals in the Bronx. The ideal candidate will have a strong clinical background and a passion for community-based work. This is a hybrid role and involves both direct clinical care and community engagement. KEY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Provide individual and/or group therapy to clients in community-based settings and virtually as needed. Facilitate psychoeducational and skills-building groups within Jewish Board community residences and for external clients (in-person or via telehealth). Conduct outreach to potential partner agencies for collaborative opportunities and community engagement. Travel throughout the Bronx as required to meet with clients at residences, community centers, or other appropriate locations. Complete thorough psychosocial assessments and develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clients. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with agency policies and funding source requirements. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, clinical supervision, and ongoing training. Respond to clinical crises with appropriate interventions and follow-up care coordination. Foster a culturally sensitive, strengths-based, and trauma-informed therapeutic environment. Maintain professional behaviors and ethical standards as established by licensing board, relevant professional association and the Jewish Board policies and procedures.     PURPOSE: The purpose of a Trauma Systems Therapy (TST) Therapist in Preventive Service Department is to provide the TST model for families with child(ren) (ages 5 and over) who are impacted by trauma and there may be risk for foster care placement. The Preventive Services Department provides child welfare services using Evidence Based models to ensure that families are able to provide safe environments for their children, keep children safe in their homes and reduce the need for foster care. Prevention is an essential part of the child welfare continuum and requires a commitment to the wellbeing of all members of a client family. All services are provided in a family's home and community. POSITION OVERVIEW: The Therapist works with families to assess their needs, develop intervention plans, and deliver therapy sessions that are tailored to the family's unique circumstances. They collaborate with other service providers to ensure a comprehensive approach to the family's care. The therapist also plays a crucial role in monitoring the family's progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary, and working towards successful case closure. The Safe Horizon Counseling Center (SHCC) is a New York State-licensed outpatient mental health clinic that specializes, exclusively, in the trauma-focused treatment of child and adult survivors of interpersonal violence and other forms of abuse. SHCC also functions as the mental health “hub” of Safe Horizon, the largest crime victim's assistance agency in the country. Our main clinic is located at 41 Flatbush Avenue in Brooklyn, and we operate two satellites that are co-located at other Safe Horizon programs. Nearly half of SHCC's clients are referred by one of Safe Horizon's vast arrays of programs. The Trauma Therapist will receive paid training and supervision in a variety of evidence-based treatments for trauma survivors, and the client hours meet New York State's experience requirements for LCSW licensure. Responsibilities: Learn and integrate a trauma-informed, client-centered approach, using an anti-oppressive lens, into your work with clients. Establishes and maintains regular contact (a minimum of once per week) with children and foster parents and provides support. Develops appropriate behavior plans, refining and revising as needed. Required Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED required. Minimum 6 months previous experience interacting with and caring for dogs in a private or shelter setting required. Supporting the enrichment program by distributing enrichment items. Aiding specialized behavior roles in their daily responsibilities, including behavioral assessments, playgroup, and training assistance. Other Responsibilities: Work with the Behavior and Enrichment Supervisor to maintain and support programs that provide. behavioral and environmental enrichment, exercise, socialization, and care focusing on dogs housed at ACC. Participate in playgroups daily: run dogs to the yard and learn safe management techniques for monitoring play sessions. Implement enrichment plans for dogs at the care centers. In conjunction with enrichment plans, teach basic manners during exercise and in the kennel as appropriate. Work with the behavior staff, animal care staff, and volunteers to identify particular animals that are shy, have been with ACC for a long time and/or need special attention. Assist with canine handling evaluations as needed. Carefully monitor and communicate behavior and body language during assessments to ensure the safety of the Assessor. Keep accurate written records to identify what was done each day for each animal and to monitor the plan. Update records and observation logs as new information becomes available. Clean up after animals. This includes picking up after dogs during walks, spot cleaning kennels as needed, and cleaning of the play yard and all enrichment supplies.
