Element has an opportunity for a NDT FPI/MPI Inspector Trainee our rapidly expanding team. As a member of the operations team, the Test Technician position performs a variety of routine and non-routine testing assignments within the department assigned and insures timely and accurate test results under direct supervision. The technician positions must be proficient in a number of core business skills including but not limited to compliance to established safety rules, code of conduct, and company policies and procedures.
Salary: $20.50- $22/hr DOE
Responsibilities
* Counts, inspects articles to verify contents of shipments against the travelers by performing the following duties.
* Verifies that traveler matches identification on customer's' containers/product.
* Unpack customers 'parts from the containers they were received in and store empty containers in a neat manner to ensure they do not become damaged or contaminated
* If product has none of the above continue prepping parts for processing (vapor degrease, hand clean etc.)
* Visually inspect parts for any incoming damage, also verify the quantities and show acceptance by initialing the traveler.
Skills / Qualifications
Language Skills:
* Must be able to speak, read and write and comprehend English fluently. Must be able to converse with the operators in a calm fashion when issues are brought to you.
Mathematical Skills:
* Must be able to perform the four basic mathe functions, addition, subtracting , multiplication and division. Must be able to count parts and reconcile against travelers.
Reasoning Ability:
* Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills:
* To perform this job successfully, and individual should have knowledge of database software, spreadsheet software and word processing software including e-mailing.
Physical Demands:
* Lifting up to 50 lbs. is expected. Mechanical aids are available for weights over 50 lbs.
* Must be able to stand for an extended period of time.
