    Job Description Permanent, year-round position working 12-hour shifts with scheduled days off and every other weekend off. The schedule is from 8:00am - 8:00pm AND rotates every three months to 8:00pm - 8:00am. If you've got good attention to detail and are ready to work and learn, apply NOW! Summary: The Drum Operator's main function involves running a potato-dehydrating drum. The Drum Operator must always consider product quality and work towards producing a consistent product based on customer and company specifications. Personal safety must also be considered, and the Drum Operator should control the amount of potato mash he or she lifts, carries, or moves so the chance of personal injury is minimized. Position Duties and Responsibilities: Responsible for maintaining an adequate and consistent flow of mash. Monitor and adjust the speed of the feed auger and roller adjustments, as well as shoveling product as needed to accomplish this. Ensure the drum operates efficiently and effectively by keeping plenty of mash on all applicator rolls; work clean mash up and dirty mash down; ensure only clean mash is on the applicator rollers to minimize defects. Ensure the reduction or elimination of waste / defect / throw-away by adjusting the rolls and maintaining as thick a sheet of mash as possible. Utilize a bullhide knife to remove bullhides as soon as they are discovered. Advise the Flake Operator of any problems as quickly as possible. Assist in the replacement of the flake knife when required. The Drum Operator will be near the drum at all times while operating. Checks for product defects and ensures product quality standards are met. Notify the Flake Operator, Assistant Shift Manager or the Shift Manager immediately if product is out of grade. Use caution around moving parts and equipment. Keep areas of responsibility clean and well maintained during shift hours, and ensure area is clean for the next shift. Complete all sanitation responsibilities including (but not limited to): avoiding cross-contamination; keep all tools clean and sanitized; keep mash pan relatively empty and in good sanitary condition; keep catwalks clean and free of debris; ensure tools or shovels do not come in contact of catwalk or other contaminated areas. Clean tool dip tanks twice during shift; clean flake breaker covers every two hours; clean knives, slides, and snifter tube once a shift. Comply with all safety regulations; follow all plant and safety policies. Follows all company and regulated good manufacturing practices. Completes all other responsibilities as necessary. Knowledge and Skills: Familiarity with the potato dehydration process helpful. Must be able to closely follow operational instructions. Previous experience working around processing equipment preferred. Knowledge of chlorine use and cleaning / sanitizing chemicals. Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Physical Requirements: Must be able to stand, bend, or move repetitively for up to 12 hours. Must be able to shovel mash weighing 35-50 lbs on a regular basis. Must be able to lift on a regular basis up to 50 lbs without assistance, and 100 lbs with assistance. Able to tolerate dust or chemicals. Must not be affected by moving equipment and machinery.     The Control Room Operator's position involves monitoring and operating plant equipment including the production and peel lines. Responsibilities include maximizing production output while keeping the product within specifications and maintaining high quality by closely working with Production, Maintenance, and Quality Assurance department. You will monitor the computer system controlling the plant machinery and make adjustments as required from the central control room. Will identify any maintenance needs on the production and peel lines and communicate this to the Shift Manager and/or shift mechanic. Position Duties and Responsibilities: Monitors all areas of the production process via PC based automated control systems and through radio communication. Follow the approved Standard Operating Procedures of the production and peel lines to produce products within their appropriate specifications, flow balance, and speed. Assists with direction of personnel who may be assigned to production and peel lines Monitors raw potato flow and makes adjustments to the sorter, sorter gates, and peelers to make sure that the right potatoes are going to the right lines and to prevent the lines from running empty. Monitors all areas of control system troubleshooting and correcting problems when required. Frequent communications with all areas of production. Tracks and documents operating parameters. Documents issues and corrective actions taken. Troubleshoots and corrects problems to ensure optimum operating conditions. Interprets analytical and operating reports for improvement opportunity. Report and communication with the Shift Manager on line performance, and line parameters on lines and any other issues pertinent to the production line. Informs shift managers of unsafe working and operating practices and reports any action sited. Follows all housekeeping policies according to good manufacturing practices. Completes all other duties as necessary. Will likely be cross-trained on other production lines. Knowledge and Skills: Ability to give instruction and teach others regarding processes and equipment operation. Ability to complete paperwork and reports; basic math skills needed. Good communication skills, both written and oral with all levels of management. Ability to analyze, troubleshoot and correct situations and ability to follow to ensure completion. Good attention to detail. Computer literacy necessary and familiarity with PC based Windows operating systems helpful. Ability to log into multiple types of software. Basic understanding of motor control/PLC operations helpful Ability to monitor self and others to make improvements or take corrective action. Ability to work well with all levels of staff. Must be safety and quality conscious. Manage multiple corrective actions at one time with multiple people. Education: Education must be of such level as to allow for the accurate reading, writing, calculation and communication of the required materials and instructions to complete the job responsibilities. High school diploma/equivalent or higher education preferred. Physical Requirements: Will be required to stand, bend, or move repetitively for up to 12 hours. Ability to make corrections or adjust product lines and determine the cause of defects and reasons for out-of-specification concerns. Ability to conduct tests, and perform inspections of products or processes for quality control purposes. Knowledge of the preparation of dehydrated medium for plating. Ability to operate an autoclave; use of indicators and temperature recorders - document the use of such equipment and tools. Prepare positive and negative controls in an aseptic manner. Knowledge of reagents and media used for testing; record reagents and media used; record the sterilization of materials. Understanding of scale calibration, weights, measures, and testing procedures (immunoassays, pour plate, spread plate, dilutions, petrifilm, etc.). Basic understanding of a Windows-based computer and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). This position requires quantative skills and knowledge of math functions including (but not limited to) percentages and decimals. Education: Education must be of such level as to allow for the accurate reading, writing, calculation and communication of the required materials and instructions to complete the job responsibilities of the Analytical Lab Technician. High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Analytical Lab Technicians are required to undergo a minimum of an 80 hour training program (in-house). Successful Lab Technicians must demonstrate their competency in performing testing procedures and other laboratory skills. Lab Technicians are only qualified to perform testing procedures that they have been formally trained in. The Quality Assurance Technologist, Supervisor and/or Manager will verify the competency of the Lab Technician on a regularly scheduled basis. Physical Requirements: Must be able to stand, bend, or move repetitively for up to 12 hours; strong or constant use of fingers/hands, and eyes. Must be able to lift on an occasional basis up to 50 lbs without assistance. Able to tolerate dust or chemicals. Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed. Must be able to climb a vertical ladder on a frequent basis. Working Conditions: Normal plant / manufacturing environment. Hours of operation are 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. What you'll be doing. Responsible for lubrication of the equipment across all the plants Responsible for equipment inspections. Supports the needs and requests from the MDI teams and other the glide path items. Performs asset inspections using tools and instruments such as Vibration meters, Ultrasonic meters, handheld IR temperature guns, IR cameras, Acoustic Imagers, Motor Alignment tool and any other instruments and technology available or become available in the future. Performs asset inspections by looking, listening, feeling and smell. Performs oil sampling on running and down equipment. Enters data collected from the asset inspections into the CMMS system. Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or technical school; or four years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Open, willing, and capable of receiving further training, with travel likely required. Training in the use of advanced tools (vibration, lubrication, thermography, etc.) will be required. Training will include on-site and off-site training. Certification exams will be taken after some of the training. Requires considerable care to avoid moderate to major damage to equipment, moderate damage of product and serious injury to self and others. Must have own tools to perform mechanical/electrical maintenance tasks safely (Company will provide tools for equipment inspection tasks). Requires a professional certification from an accredited body of knowledge, or previous experience and demonstrated competency. In addition, the candidate will possess basic electrical knowledge, electrical / instrumentation tech school credits, OJT, or millwright mechanic coursework taken 2008 or later, or previous experience with demonstrated competency. Experience or training on working safely with 480 VAC three phase power. Basic knowledge of power distribution, control wiring and other related components, PLC functions, VFD functionality and servo or process controllers. Basic electrical troubleshooting and one-for-one component replacement skills. The position does include setting up codes on coders in applicable departments.
