Role Mission: RISE stands for Reaching Independence through Support and Education. IDEA RISE Intervention Specialists ensure that our students who have a wide range of learning, cognitive, emotional, and physical disabilities, are held to very high achievement expectations so that they reach their fullest potential. Our IDEA RISE Intervention Specialists teach all subjects such as Reading, Writing, and Math, History, Adaptive PE and others to students who have but are not limited to intellectual, behavioral, and physical disabilities. RISE Intervention Specialists also provide resources, education, training, and emotional support to the families they serve so families are prepared for long-term plans for their children.
What We Offer
Compensation:
The starting teacher salary for 0 years of experience is $48,500. This role is eligible for various stipends based on certifications, credentials, and campus leadership ranging from $500-$4,000 each. We also offer opportunities and incentives through our Teacher Career Pathway with the potential to earn up to $10,000 in additional compensation. Additional hourly compensation is provided for after school tutoring or Saturday school as assigned.

Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year educational institution
Experience: Experience in a SpecialEducation classroom setting with students who have significant disabilities
Licenses or Certifications: Valid Ohio Intervention Specialist license specializing in Moderate/Intensive special needs
Knowledge and Skills:
Knowledge of curriculum and instruction

What You'll Do -- Accountabilities
Responsibilities:
Adapt lessons to meet the needs of students

Update IEPs throughout the school year to reflect students' progress and goals
Assess students' skills to determine their needs and to develop teaching plans
Collect and analyze student data in order to make effective decisions to maximize achievement
Discuss student's progress with parents, teachers, counselors, and administrators
Prepare and help students transition from grade to grade and after graduation
Implement state learning standards and IDEA curricula and assessments to meet ambitious academic expectations
Submit weekly lesson plans two weeks in advance for feedback
Implement formal and informal assessments to track each individual student's progress and learning needs, adjust lesson plans accordingly and update gradebook weekly
Communicate students' progress with student and family on a weekly basis
Effective facilitation and personal use of technology as a communication and educational tool to improve student achievement and manage work related tasks.
Implement a clear and consistent behavior management system that aligns to campus- wide initiatives while developing students' character and sense of community in the classroom
Help shape and develop a school wide culture that fosters a productive and enthusiastic learning environment for each student
Establish and maintain a cooperative working relationship with students and families based on trust, understanding and respect for the communities in which they identify.
Host necessary tutoring sessions to meet all students' needs

Role Mission: The SpecialEducation RISE Co-Teacher position is ideal for a candidate looking to gain valuable experience in SpecialEducation teaching. This position is also ideal for a candidate who has at least 48 college hours, wants challenging work, and the opportunity to advance in his or her education career.
RISE stands for Reaching Independence through Support and Education. IDEA SpecialEducation RISE Co-Teachers work with students with significant cognitive and/or pervasive developmental disabilities. The needs of these students require a functional curriculum focused on the acquisition of daily living and vocational skills leading to a successful transition to adult life within the community. These K-12 classrooms provide instruction in practical academics, communication, community, domestic, leisure/recreation, and vocational skills utilizing a functional curriculum in a general education school building. The classrooms emphasize communication, maximum independence, and opportunities to generalize skills in natural settings as well as participation in general education activities with typical peers. IDEA SpecialEducation RISE Co-Teachers support the SpecialEducation-RISE classroom in the Academy (K-5) or College Prep (6-12) as they work with students in lower student-teacher ratios (often 1 to 3) to support their academic needs.

Work with other professionals, such as speech therapist, social worker, occupational and physical therapists

Description Role Mission: The IDEA Interventionist Co-Teacher intervenes with small groups of students who have identified gaps of 2 or more years in Reading and/or Math with the goal of closing that gap by 2 years in just one school year. The IDEA Interventionist Co-Teacher plays a crucial part in ensuring that all students are prepared to successfully participate in IDEA's AP for All initiative. This is an approach to academic intervention used to provide systematic, and appropriately intensive assistance to children who are at risk for or already underperforming as compared to appropriate grade- or age-level standards. Intervention teachers will use universal screening, Direct Instruction intervention, frequent progress monitoring, and increasingly intensive research-based instruction and interventions for students who continue to have difficulty. This is a Title I Part A, grant funded position and funding may be extended. A grant-funded position has no guarantee of ongoing and indefinite employment. All duties and responsibilities tied to this position are allowable and allocable to the grant. What We Offer Compensation:
Compensation for this role is set at an hourly rate ranging between $17.15 for 0 years of experience and $19.25
Hourly co-teachers earnings are paid out over a 12-month period

Role Mission: IDEA Co-Teachers learn instructional strategies and develop their teaching skills in order to provide highly effective instruction to IDEA students. IDEA Co-Teachers implement Direct Instruction Curriculum (DI) and are responsible for student instruction under the guidance of an IDEA teacher and assistant principal of instruction. DI co-teachers use clear instruction and always teach to mastery. This means that teachers do not move on in the lesson until students have grasped the content they need to know. Groups are organized by level, so that every
student can learn at their own pace.

Compensation for this role is set at an hourly rate ranging between $14.00 for 0 years of experience and $19.67
Hourly co-teachers earnings are paid out over a 12-month period

Paid Family Leave: Eligible staff may receive up to 8 weeks of paid leave for the birth or adoption of a child, based on their tenure with the organization and caregiver designation.
Tuition Reimbursement: Staff members may apply for up to 50% of tuition paid toward a qualifying degree program, up to $5,250 maximum per year subject to manager discretion and budget availability.
Employer-Paid Mental/Behavioral Health: 5 face-to-face counseling sessions within a year, unlimited 24/7 telephonic counseling, and other work-life services available at no cost.

IDEA may offer a relocation allowance to defray the cost of moving for this role, if applicable.
What You Bring -- Competencies
Qualifications:
Education: At least 48 college hours required or bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year educational institution required
Experience: 1+ year(s) of experience working with children in a classroom or volunteer setting
Knowledge and Skills:
Ability and motivation to master the Direct Instruction Curriculum
Ability to instruct students and manage student behavior
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to adjust and adapt to a multitude of situations in the school environment
What You'll Do -- Accountabilities
Responsibilities:
Assist in the educational development of students under the direction and guidance of the classroom teachers
Assist classroom teachers with maintaining student records.
Successfully implement the Direct Instruction (DI) Curriculum
Participate in lesson practice and delivery of our Direct Instruction (DI) Curriculum
Communicate students' progress with student and family on a weekly basis
Implement a clear and consistent behavior management system that aligns to campus- wide initiatives while developing students' character and sense of community in the classroom
Help shape and develop a school wide culture that fosters a productive and enthusiastic learning environment for each student
Establish and maintain a cooperative working relationship with students and families based on trust, understanding and respect for the communities in which they identify.
Host necessary tutoring sessions to meet all students' needs
Participate in weekly manager check-ins, grade-level meetings, before and after-school duties, and school wide meetings and functions
Engage in summer and year-long district, school and personal learning and development
Minimum of 40+ hours spent at school per week
Additional responsibilities may include: after-school tutoring or Saturday school and are based on the needs of our scholars
