ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintain and troubleshoot Rockwell Control Logix systems • Installing, programming and troubleshooting PLC's and using the PLC program as a troubleshooting tool • Perform preventive maintenance on instrumentation without supervision and solve complex instrumentation/PLC problems. • Calculate electrical loads to determine size of conductors and breakers and design and modify electrical circuits to meet the demands of the plant. • Read and understand advanced electrical schematics and interconnection diagrams/drawings including pneumatic systems. • Implement electrical, electronic and pneumatic control schemes • Troubleshoot and repair plant electrical equipment. • Calibrate instrumentation and controllers • Plan instrumentation maintenance projects and determine manpower/material needs • All other duties assigned by supervisor.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Technical Skills: Strong working knowledge of PLCs and PLC programming using Rockwell Control Logix is required. Must have working knowledge of motion controls, servo, Variable Frequency Drives, Hart instrument configuration, programming and ladder logic, troubleshooting and repairing AC/DC motor controls, blue print reading as well as schematics; industrial code and wiring, RSLogix. Knowledge of Rockwell Factory Talk Software Programs preferred. Solid basic electrical skills required. Ability to use precision tools, i.e., Hart calibrator, process calibrator, various multimeters, Basic networking experience a plus. Must have the ability to use advanced trades mathematics together with the use of complicated drawings, specifications, charts, tables all varieties of precision measuring instruments, follow written instruction and possess basic computer skills using common programs such as windows operating systems, spreadsheets and word processors. Experience and Education: Associates Degree along with 5 years of experience in instrumentation/electrical and electronic circuitry in a manufacturing setting strongly preferred, Or 10 years of experience in instrumentation/electrical and electronic circuitry in a manufacturing setting. Other Skills: Ability to work with others and share information with others. Uses independent judgment to plan and perform work. Ability to work safely and efficiently, help to reduce costs and support the Company's continuous improvement process. Must be able to work weekends, overtime, holidays and be on-call during the off-shifts is required.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Continuous mental and visual attention performing diversified maintenance activities requiring constant alertness. Requires constant walking and standing a great amount of time in extreme heat with a moderate amount of exposure to extreme cold, dampness, heights, vibration, skin/lung irritants. A moderate amount of time will be spent sitting, walking, climbing, bending/twisting, pushing/pulling, carrying, reaching out/above shoulders. Ability to lift up to 50+ pounds. A great amount of time will be spent lifting/lowering and crouching. A great amount of time will be spent in a noisy environment.

Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is searching for an Instrumentation and Electrical Technician with experience in the oil and gas industry to work in a H2S plant and/or inland bay offshore.

Work schedule of 7x7 in Coden, AL. Must live within 60 miles from facility/bay area, home every night.

Authorization to work lawfully in the US without sponsorship from Wood is required.

* Supervises "B" electrical technicians and I&E techs for safe and efficient operations, as well as, assist with technical problems where needed.
* Troubleshoots breakdowns, diagnoses faults and executes repairs; Refers problems to the supervisor; Maintains good housekeeping at the work site and ensure tools and equipment are kept in good working order.
* Adheres to all safety rules and regulations.
* Must be able to troubleshoot problems with Omni/PLC system and HMI software.
* Receives daily instructions, as well as, obtains required materials and equipment from the supervisor.
* Must be able to build panels from drawings and troubleshoot Omni.
* Adhere to all safety rules and regulations in carrying out work including following detailed procedures indicated in work permits.
* Additional duties as instructed by supervisor.

Skills / Qualifications

Required: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); 2-4 years of I&E experience required

Preferred: Associate's degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; 5+ years' offshore or plant I&E experience preferred

Must live within 60 miles of the plant/bay area as this is a home every night position.

Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree or graduate of a technical school preferred One year of related experience required Knowledge of systems including: Allen Bradley equipment, Omni flow computers, John Zinc systems, Factory Talk software, Siemens equipment and Systronics systems preferred Motor Operated Valve (MOV) calibration and repair experience preferred Tubing and fitting installation and repair experience preferred Calibration and repair of temperature, level, pressure, meter and prover instrumentation experience preferred Has working knowledge of medium and low voltage systems.
