Power & Energy Society company history timeline

2007

November 18, 2007- IEEE BoD approved changing the name of the IEEE Power Engineering Society (PES) to the IEEE Power & Energy Society (TAB approved 17 November 2007)

2008

On April 22, 2008, the name Power Engineering Society was changed to the Power and Energy Society after a final vote from the PES members.

2015

The need for additional workers in the power industry is reinforced in the Quadrennial Energy Review which was released in April 2015.

2017

The January 2017 release of The Second Installment of the QER: Transforming the Nation’s Electricity System noted "Workforce retirements are a pressing challenge.

2018

The PES day theme will be “More Power to the Future”. Though the PES Day falls on 22nd April, 2018, celebrations will be organized all over the globe throughout the month of April.
