A Line Tech Lead by KHMS definition is a department maintenance Trio member. Trio, is a partnership between Production Supervisor (Process Owner), Continuous Improvement Leads (CI) and the Maintenance Lead. Trio objectives include providing the shop floor with the tools and systems needed to drive engagement, performance & a zero loss state. They will do so while safely delivering planned production without defects, every time, while minimizing cost.
Ensures maintenance and repair work is completed safely, effectively, and in a timely manner. Assists team members with technical issues or advanced problems with given assignments. Inspects work performed by team members. Parts and materials are analyzed for defects and proper fitment. The Line Tech Lead will help with the load leveling of PM's as they pertain to Line Tech workload.
This employee will develop the maintenance capability of the Line Tech Team by serving as a technical coach and resource. They will Coach line operating teams on technical aspects of equipment. The Lead spends time on the floor gathering information on breakdowns, defects, and work order completions over the past 24 hours. Works with the SAP Coordinator to continuously improve PM work instructions, task lists, and checklists. The Line Tech Lead will work with the Planner to ensure that all work is completed on time.

* Set up, operate and read precision testing and measuring instruments to the instruments' manufacturer's specifications and accuracy. Such devices consist of but are not limited to: ammeters, voltmeters, ohmmeters, gages, recorders, and capacitor analyzers.
* Work from both written and verbal instructions.
* Install, troubleshoot, repair, modify, calibrate and make repairs or adjustments based on that diagnosis using repair parts, by correcting existing parts or by innovation to select substitute parts.
* Do periodic PM's to all system controls, establish and create additional PM's as determined.
* Must own and maintain the minimum required quality and quantity of personal hand tools for use on the job as instructed by your supervisor.
* Employee must work under all plant safety guidelines such as; Lock out tag out, Arc Flash, etc.
* Follows plant G.M.P's.
* Installs all electrical/electronic equipment in accordance with the National Electrical Code, Minnesota Electrical Laws and Rules, and local ordinances.
Qualifications:
* High School Diploma/GED Required.
* 2 Year Technical Degree in Electrical or Computer related field Preferred.
* Working knowledge of CCN network and PLC Programs Preferred.

Performing Good Sanitation Practices (GSPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) when handling equipment

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, installing, and performing routine, corrective and preventative maintenance of all production equipment, machinery within the facility, as well as facility infrastructure and grounds. This role is essential to minimizing downtime and supporting efficient and safe manufacturing operations. The Maintenance Technician will interact with various departments throughout Avery Weigh-Tronix including production departments and supporting departments.
What You Will Do:
* Perform routine, preventative, and corrective maintenance on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
* Assist in new equipment development and modifications and revisions to existing machines.
* Troubleshoot and repair production equipment, including motors, pumps, and compressors.
* Maintain building systems including HVAC, lighting, and plumbing as needed.
* Conduct safety inspections and maintain documentation of maintenance activities.
* Respond promptly to equipment failures and emergencies to minimize production interruptions.
* Work collaboratively with production staff to schedule and complete repairs and maintenance.
* Maintain an accurate inventory of tools, spare parts, and equipment.
* Follow all safety protocols, including Lock Out/Tag Out (LOTO) and OSHA regulations.
* Document work orders, repairs, and maintenance activities.
* Operate plow truck, bobcat and manual tools to keep the grounds and facility safe during all seasons.
* Support and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the facility.
* Communicate with other shifts, operators, and technicians to give and receive updates on equipment status.
What We Are Looking For:
* High School diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training preferred.
* Maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
* Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, PLC troubleshooting a plus.
* Willingness/ability to attend formal training courses to learn new skills and acquire licensure's as necessary.
* Has or able to complete Low-pressure boiler certification through the state of Minnesota
* Able to read blueprints, schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical manuals.
* Knowledge of OSHA Requirements to include electrical safety, machine guarding, and authorized lockout/tagout procedures.
* Basic working knowledge of computer software, email, excel, word and internet.
* Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
* Possess strong work ethic, is a self-starter, has good attendance and works successfully in team settings.
* Valid driver's license
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
* Possess dexterity and flexibility to allow for work around various machines that require crawling, kneeling, reaching, bending, and standing. Must be able to stand for a full shift (8 hours).
