The Computed Tomography (CT) Imaging Specialist provides nurturing, compassionate and personalized patient-centered care in an environment that focuses on healing body, mind and spirit. Works under the supervision of the Radiology Director. Performs Computed Tomography procedures utilizing specialized equipment for Radiographic Imaging and recording. Along with other members of the Radiographic team, maintains responsibility for patient care. These services may be provided for both the LLUMC and LLUCH hospitals. Performs other duties as needed.
Graduate from an accredited two year American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) approved program in Radiologic Technology. Computed Tomography (CT) Registry eligible and must be taken within six month of hire date. Minimum of one year of experience in Computed Tomography (CT) preferred. Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT), American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT), and Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
Has the ability and knowledge to operate all appropriate computed tomography equipment and procedures. Able to read; write legibly; speak in English (and Spanish preferred) with professional quality; use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position, and operate all appropriate Radiology equipment. Excellent interpersonal skills in dealing with patients of all ages, physicians and co-workers. Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively and professionally with others; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; accept direction. Able to communicate effectively in English in person, in writing, and on the telephone; think critically; manage multiple assignments effectively; organize and prioritize workload; work well under pressure; problem solve; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail; work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to communicate effectively about complex matters with others. Ability to hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone, identify and distinguish various sounds associated with workplace/patient care; see adequately to read computer screens, medical records and written documents necessary to the position; discern temperature variances through touch.
