Dynamic Manager needed to support a diverse team of 8-12 employees. This manager must have extensive experience in overseas Export/Import with a background in vessel/containerized product. This role will manage a team that compiles the documentation for products shipped across the world along with the team that manages the receiving of the product into the US.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
·Manage a team of 8-12 individuals that oversee the import and export documentation for material that is moved via ocean for up to 1,000 containers a month.
·Act as a key leader within the supply chain organization to deliver world class service to our customers while driving strategic change and implementing robust international shipment objectives.
·Assume a leadership role in managing the implementation of international trade documentation standards that comply with applicable local and US regulations, along with corresponding agencies and regulations outside of the United States. Assist in streamlining processes and systems to support the delivery of products, services, and information internationally, externally, and internally.
·Ensure that required Import and Export documentation is accurately and completed in a timely manner, resulting in orders that are shipped and delivered accurately, timely, and compliant. Required documentation includes but is not limited to: Bill of Lading, packing lists, Phytosanitary, shipping instructions, etc.
·Act as an escalation point to quickly resolve complex issues regarding sales and purchase order management, product delivery and steamship interactions.
·Motivate and direct staff as they work, identifying and developing key talent. Manage employee cycle: Hire, onboard, train and guide CSRs toward exceptional sales support.Resolve personnel issues and lead employees’ performance management.
·Interprets and monitors the team’s adherence to corporate policies and procedures, international documentation compliance.
·Prepare and analyze data and reports to present recommendations for continuous improvement in team and documentation processes, import and export delivery, and customer satisfaction.
Basic Qualifications:

Job Summary:
The Manager is responsible for leading a team of Transportation Coordinators engaged in the processing and management of import and export shipments for our customer population, ensuring that outstanding support, service and communication is provided to all customers both internal/external and maintaining productive and professional relationships with international and domestic customers/affiliates. The Manager is responsible for facilitating a close working relationship and flow of communication with other departments in JFK, across the US and abroad. In addition, he/she is responsible for driving proper interaction with US CBP and other regulatory agencies, customs brokers, airlines and other vendors, customer service and at times directly with the Customer. The Manager is overall responsible for compliance with regulatory requirements within the scope of his/her area of responsibility. This position will be the primary day to day leader of our staff and will be responsible for their development, production and the level of service provided by all.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for setting and managing the service roadmap for the Import and Export department and adapt as needed based on requirements from Customers and Affiliates Responsible to ensure that processes are properly defined and documented; both for own department as well for processes across departments. Ensure proper training and comprehension of applicable staff Ensure adherence with all Brink's procedures, including but not limited to Operational, Safety and Security Procedures Coordinate operational resources including staff, technology and training to ensure outstanding customer satisfaction is achieved while maintaining efficiency. This will be achieved through partnering with existing Brinks BGS resources as well as key executives within the BGS footprint. Partner with other operational leaders to resolve recurring issues and provide long term solutions. Effectively manage a close relationship with Customer Service, Operations, Sales and Security to ensure the right decisions are made at the right time, appropriate communication occurs and that plans are intelligently adjusted to reflect necessary fluctuations in goals and requirements as business needs change. Apply company guidelines and goals in respect to working conditions, atmosphere and performance of directly subordinated staff. Ensure that the team responds to incoming communications from internal and external customers and where necessary take an active hands on role to resolve and escalate issues as needed including the providing of product line data and the quoting of prices for all services. Work closely with all Customer Service and operations departments across the US to provide and communicate accurately all information and pricing for services to customers and where necessary other internal departments within Brinks as well. Manage the communication and coordination of all customs clearance and transportation arrangements for commodity/customer moves including routing, delivery, booking, and other transportation logistics. 3. Understands and applies U.S. Export Regulations (International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Export Administration Regulations (EAR), BATFE regulations), and company export policies. 4. Supports internal customers across all functions with the review/approval of international travel requests, international visit requests, international purchase orders, document reviews, and international shipments.
5. Provides export training to new employees, current employees and special programs.
6. Reports potential export/import violations to the Export Manager or Director of Export Operations. Supports the investigation of potential violations and assists in the preparation of voluntary disclosures to the U.S. Government.
7. Supports, prepares for, and participates in company, external and government audits.
8. Coordinates with internal customers on pending imports and notifies the Import Team to ensure timely and compliant import transactions.
9. Maintains a safe work environment and ensures compliance with safety objectives and company policies.
