The TGH Urgent Care powered by Fast Track Physician Medical Director performs physical exams and partners with patients to create appropriate, evidence-based, medical treatment plans. Additionally, the Medical Director collaborates with the providers and Clinical Management team on patient cases and offers ongoing mentorship and supervision to Advanced Practice Providers (APRN/PA). The Medical Director assists with the direction and delivery of medical care and is responsible for maintaining relationships and coordinating activities of all providers, clinical staff, and operations. Additionally, the Medical Director assists with the oversight of the development of clinically relevant education, training, and process improvement. Document medical information of patients and reviews patients' histories at each visit. Evaluate response to treatments and medications. Consults, collaborates, and refers with other health care providers when appropriate. Counsels' patients and performs patient education. Perform minor procedures, i.e., laceration repair, incision and drainage, minor foreign body removal, etc. within the limitations outlined in the company protocols. Manage pediatric (3 months +) and adult patients for both acute and chronic conditions. Actively maintain knowledge of current medical research and trends. Provides administrative support or cross-coverage for reviewing laboratory tests, results, and prescription clarifications when needed. Other duties as assigned. Complete scheduled training as required. Ensure the guest has water and a chance to “go potty” if he or she will be with you for over 2 hours. Follow all standards of safety with regards to handling guests, particularly aggressive guests and escape artists.
