All Animal Services employees work in the animal shelter where temperamental and dangerous animals are housed, and should expect to come into contact with animals that may bite, kick, or scratch on a regular basis. Employees are regularly exposed to loud noises, unpleasant odors, chemicals, cleaning agents, and soaps. Employees are regularly exposed to animals that may be diseased, as well as fur, pet dander, and zoonotic diseases. In 2023, Governor Cox's One Utah Health Collaborative recognized the IOC has as leader in novel comprehensive care delivery and sustainable financial innovation. The IOC was also featured in Meet Me Where I Am - a short film that premiered in the 2022 Sundance Film Festival - that tells the story of one IOC patient and how this clinic provides unique integrated care. This position provides both primary care services in a University Health clinic or hospital unit and works collaboratively with the medical and behavioral health teams to deliver comprehensive care oriented around treating the bio-psycho-social needs of the IOC patient population.
