The Opportunity

Engage in recruiting Kinship foster parents, by utilizing data base, social media, etc.
Provides family search efforts by implementing the process of identifying, locating, and contacting persons with whom the child already has, or had, a bond or positive relationship with, with the knowledge and approval of the child's caseworker.
Prepares and submits reports, calendars and other deliverables as required by agency supervisor, NYC Children's Services and/or OCFS. Assures scheduling, monitoring and tracking of all possible kinship resources.
Facilitate and scheduled 30 day conference with case planning team to discuss the outcome or barriers in identifying kinships. Tracks all identified kinship resources until placement. Actively participate in the Initial placement conference for non-kinship cases

Responsibilities of Child Sitting Employee
⦁ Greeting and checking in members as they come in.
⦁ Playing and caring for children of all ages.
⦁ Resolving child issues in an effective manner.

⦁ Opening and closing the Child Sitting room if scheduled.

⦁ Selling in-store merchandise such as Retro Blends Smoothies, Cooler Drinks, Pro Shop items, etc.
All Child Sitting employees are to wear company staff shirt along with either Khaki pants or black athletic pants. Sneakers must always be worn. No boots, heals, or open toe shoes or sandals. Child Sitting staff should always be well groomed and neat. Opening shift employees are required to be inside the Child Sitting room 15 minutes prior to the shift to ensure all items on the Opening Checklist are performed before children arrive. Closing employees are to close the Child Sitting room at the established time.

SHOPP offers 12 essential programs, including CCNP (Community Care Network Program), 4 Older Adult Centers (Casa Boricua, Leon, Soundview, and Guess), NORC (Naturally Occurring Retirement Communities), Pop Up Caf, Case Management with Friendly Visiting, Elder Justice, Caregiver Support Program, and NY Connects. The Program Aide is responsible for providing clerical and program support to the Community Care
Network Program. Duties include handling telephones, reception area supervision, heavy filing, typing
letters and preparing reports, managing supplies inventory and equipment, providing Information and
Referral (I&R) , data entry in DFTA database system and assisting with program activities. The Program
Aide reports directly to the Program Director. The position requires a High School Diploma or equivalent,
computer literacy in Microsoft Office application and database systems. Excellent people skills, knowledge
of community resources for Information and Referral. Spanish language fluency preferred.
The Program Aide is specifically responsible for the following tasks:
Clerical:
Screen calls.
Triage Intake calls.
Track program services and prepare reports.
Assist with coordinating activities of volunteers.
Maintain various databases, mailing lists and monthly agency program levels of services report.
Maintain inventory of office supplies. This includes: completing approved purchased orders,
placing orders, receiving and checking purchase items upon delivery and storing supplies
which vary in weight up to 20 lbs and may require reaching overhead and utilizing a step
stool.
Perform heavy filing tasks daily, including pulling and refiling client case records in up to 5
drawer filing cabinet.
Maintain agency equipment (computers, copiers, fax, etc.) inventory, troubleshoot problems and
arrange for service and maintenance on timely basis as needed.
Restocking office supplies including office printers with reams of copy paper.
Assist in member/participant/client registration and enrollment.
When necessary, provide Telephone Reassurance and Case Assistance as assigned by
supervisor.
Provide Information and Referral.
Other Duties:
Supervise reception area and reception staff, volunteers.
Participate in SHOPP staff training programs, staff meetings, community meetings and other
meetings as assigned.
Assist in resolving any administrative problems.
Be available and willing to perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
