Montclair, NJ (Essex County), family is looking to hire a loving Nanny/Housekeeper who is comfortable with a busy household of 3 boys and 2 dogs. Their oldest son is neurodivergent and they are primarily looking for someone with a background in this area. He has significant anxiety and ADHD and impulse control issues. They need someone who understands him, is able to connect with him, and also help him regulate and set appropriate boundaries. MUST also be aware and comfortable knowing that one of their dogs (Aussie Doodle) can have some challenging behavior around dynamics other than the family. They are working with a dog trainer.
A typical day: The Nanny would start @ 6:30 am to help get the kids up and prepare lunches and breakfasts. Most days mom drives the oldest into Manhattan, and the Nanny will take the younger two kids to school. When the kids are in school, the Nanny would do all the laundry for the family, care for the dogs (take them on a walk or throw the ball to them), tidy up the house when the housekeeper isn't there, and prepare a very simple dinner for the kids. After school she would do pick up then kids activities, play dates, monitor and help with homework, serve dinner, and help with bedtime - baths/showers and bed. Typically around 8 pm for the youngest and 8:30/9 for the others.
What Works Best for Family:
-Someone very loving, focused on the kids, and bonds with the children.
-Must be comfortable around dogs and caring for dogs.
-Flexibility in role to help around the house and handle the oldest son who can be challenging.
