In-Situ Inc. is an international company founded in 1976 by Chester McKee from the basement of his Laramie, Wyoming home.
In 1984, the HERMIT® (Hydrologic, Environmental, Remediation and Monitoring InstrumenT) was the first datalogger in the industry to combine field-ruggedness with ease-of-use and high accuracy for pumping tests and long-term water monitoring.
The TROLL® 4000, released in 1995, was the company’s first all-in-one datalogger/transducer/temperature sensor and became the industry standard for a complete, self-contained, long-term monitoring solution for groundwater.
In 2017, In-Situ acquired the Australian company MACE, with its line of ultrasonic flow meters, data loggers, and controllers for the industrial, wastewater, agriculture, and environmental markets.
In 2019, the company acquired ChemScan, a well-established, Wisconsin-based firm that produces a trusted line of analyzers for real-time drinking water and wastewater monitoring.
