Our client, a Chicago-based manufacturer of plumbing (pipes, fittings, valves) equipment, seeks a strong Sales Support Rep to add to their team! This position will support all facets of B2B order fulfillment, while working closely with in-house manufacturing, engineering, and sales teams. The ideal candidate will have experience with technical product support and collaborating on custom products.
Software/IT backgrounds need not apply.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Field all incoming B2B calls and emails
Answer questions and provide technical support
Providing sales support, including cost estimates for B2B customers
Collaborate closely with engineering and manufacturing to deliver on custom products
Evaluate and translate technical drawings
Generate price quotes and job bids when needed
Enter large volumes of Purchase Orders as they come through
Process incoming customer orders
Work closely with the shop floor to meet outgoing delivery requirements
Resolve any installation or after-sales issues; general troubleshooting
CANDIDATE PROFILE:
Bachelor's degree in a business or technical field
2+ years of technical customer service experience in a manufacturing environment
Experience with an industrial plumbing and/or PVF (pipes, valves, fittings) manufacturer preferred
Sales Support experience required
Distribution experience preferred
Experience in a technical sales environment
Proficient in MS Office
Experience working with engineering teams on custom products
Experience entering Purchase Orders on a regular basis
Some ERP software experience preferred
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Proven track record of success in school and work environments
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and put the customer first
