We're hiring a Registered Nurse to work PRN at our Acute Treatment Unit at 1302 Chinook Lane, Pueblo, CO.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Registered Nurse, PRN at the Acute Treatment Unit you would be providing direct care to patients experiencing emotional crisis and serious psychiatric issues in an environment that is a less restrictive alternative to hospitalization. You would be conducting assessments, evaluating and managing medications, setting priorities for care, and leading your shift. You'd also have the distinct opportunity to work closely with a multidisciplinary team of Health Solutions professionals to serve individuals and groups.
Specifically, the Registered Nurse, PRN
Prepares and dispenses prescribed medications;
Ensures that all medications are securely maintained;
Maintains therapeutic milieu;
Conducts nursing assessments;
Provides therapeutic sessions as needed;
Keeps accurate records with 100% compliance with our standards;
Maintains competency and proficiency with the electronic health record and electronic prescribing;
Organizes and maintains medication records;
Calls in prescriptions and follows-up on refills;
Orders lab work and reviews as needed for immediate attention on the doctor's behalf;
Consults and works closely with treating medical professionals;
Leads the shift and assigns tasks to co-workers to insure the smooth operation of the shift;
Participates in the on call schedule with an assigned minimum number of shifts per month; and
Performs other duties as assigned by the program director within the scope of the position.
Physical requirements include the following:
Requires standing, sitting, driving, and walking for prolonged periods of time
Occasionally lifts and carries items up to 50 pounds
Requires working under stress in emergency situations
Use of standard precautions occasionally to avoid exposure to communicable diseases and bodily fluids
Requires occasional driving in adverse weather conditions
Requires frequent operation of a computer

What we're looking For-The Must-Haves
* Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited institution
* 2+ years of experience in primary care, integrated healthcare, or behavioral health settings.
* Strong knowledge of psychiatric and medical medication management.
* Comfort providing care for patients across the lifespan, including those with behavioral health and substance use conditions.
* Excellent communication and time management skills.
* Flexibility, adaptability, and a growth mindset.
* Strong documentation and EHR and computer proficiency.
* Adheres to the spirit of the mission statement while performing assigned duties.
* Valid Colorado driver's license and reliable transportation.
* Current CPR/First Aid certification.
What we'd Like to See in you-the Nice-to-Haves
* Experience working with adults with severe and persistent mental illness (SPMI).
* Proven success within a multidisciplinary team.
* Experience in managed care or value-based environments.
* Spanish language skills (preferred but not required).
