Job Description for Long-Term Care Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Job Title: Long-Term Care Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Reports To: Nurse Manager/Director of Nursing A Long-Term Care Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) plays a critical role in providing daily care to elderly or disabled residents in a long-term care facility. The CNA works under the supervision of registered nurses (RNs) or licensed practical nurses (LPNs) and is responsible for assisting with personal care, daily activities, and ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for residents. Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of care provided, including daily logs and medication reminders. Comfort and Emotional Support: Provide companionship and emotional support to residents to ensure their comfort and well-being. Hygiene and Cleanliness: Ensure that the environment is safe, clean, and free from hazards; assist with cleaning and sanitizing equipment and patient areas. Infection Control: Follow protocols for infection control, including hand hygiene and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Required Qualifications: Certification: Must have an active CNA certification from an accredited program. Experience: Previous experience in long-term care settings or related healthcare fields preferred, but not always required. Physical Stamina: Ability to lift, move, and transfer residents, as well as stand for extended periods. Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to follow instructions and accurately document care.
