I thought the pros of working for School District 196 was that I was able to train with a variety of methods, teachers and staff. I have enjoyed the diversity and growth that this district has offered me for the past 16 years.
In my experience District 196 has been changing with leadership and curriculum. It has a high turnover rate for teacher and especially administrators.
My favorite perk or benefit of this job is that I have been part of implementing new programs and continue to learn about new online programs and curriculum.
What I like best about the leadership at District 196 is the professionalism and excellent communication I have received from them over the years.
I would improve the District by continuing to implement new programs and help other staff be proficient in their job as part of the leadership team as well as PBIS.
I prepared for an interview at District 196 by researching the schools and talking to others that worked in the buildings. Then reviewed questions that may be relevant to them as well as asked questions I may need to know ahead of time.
In my experience our teachers are well compensated for their teaching experience and current years at the building.
The representation of population of staff is not very diverse, but the student population is very diverse.
Personally working with students and upcoming teachers is the most fulfilling part of my job as an educator.
