About Logansport State Hospital: Logansport State Hospital is a state-operated inpatient psychiatric hospital for adults with mental illness. Using an interdisciplinary approach and evidence-based programming, we promote recovery and the return of the individual to the community. Salary Statement: The salary for this position traditionally starts at $31,668.00 but may be commensurate with education or work experience. A Day in the Life: The essential functions of this role are as follows: * Serve as a general maintenance person to inspect and maintain all facilities, grounds, and equipment. * Perform routine carpentry, plumbing, and electrical repairs. * Ensure all employees are properly trained to operate equipment and are properly educated to follow established safety policies and procedures. * Direct, assist, and support recreational special events as needed. * Assist with purchasing and inventory of incoming supplies, materials, and repair parts. * Responsible for major and minor equipment, vehicle, and vessel repairs. * Maintain grounds which may include mowing, weeding, aerating, spraying, fertilizing, and tree trimming or removal. * Responsible for maintaining all roads such as painting, snow plowing, sanding, and salting, repaving, or repairing. * Responsible for providing public safety on property, provide assistance in an emergency, or aid in rescue of accident victims. * Assist law enforcement with investigation of illegal activities on properties. * May assist and perform wildlife resource management * Workday attendance at assigned worksite(s) is an essential function of this position.
