Medical Surgical Acute Care 6 is a 39-bed acuity adaptable medical and progressive level of care unit. Of the 39 beds, 6 include progressive care level unit rooms. Our primary focus is on gastrointestinal procedures while also including ENT and GYN. Nurses are trained to care for a variety of medical/surgical patients presenting with COPD, chest pain, dehydration, sepsis, COVID primary focus on gastrointestinal procedures while also including ENT and GYN. We primarily care for patients with medical conditions consisting of COPD, chest pain, dehydration, sepsis, COVID, and other conditions.

Our Medical Surgical unit contains 25 Semi-Private Beds, and cares for a variety of conditions for all adult patients. They administer medications, monitor vital signs, change dressings, and educate patients about their procedures. They also coordinate patient care plans with other healthcare professionals and evaluate medical information.
Responsibilities:
The RN for this role helps with a variety of tasks that include, but are not limited to patient education, tele monitoring, charting, assisting patients with their Individual Treatment Plan (ITP), checking vitals, resource management, and more.
Although previous cardiac experience is preferred, it is not required. We are looking for a nurse who can connect with patients, and help provide a positive/exciting atmosphere.

Methodist's Adult Med/Surg unit (B5/C5) is a 26-bed unit provides 24-hour care to acutely ill patients. We are a medical unit that cares for patients with a variety of medical diagnosis, including renal disease, diabetes management, wound management, pain management, and vascular access issues. supporting patients varying from young adult to the geriatric age group. This unit is the designated unit for providing all Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis (CAPD) for Methodist Hospital. This unit also embodies an additional unit, B5, a 5-bed End of life care unit that is dedicated to the care of patients at the end of life, including both palliative and hospice care.

* Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
* Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
* Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
* Other advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
