This secured medical floor treats patients who present with primary medical diagnosis and secondary psychiatric diagnosis. Our primary diagnoses include patients dealing with alcohol withdrawal, Alzheimer/dementia, altered mental status, and other mental health issues. C8 is a 16-bed locked psychiatric unit that focuses on patients who present with primary psychiatric diagnosis. Diagnoses include a wide range of mental health issues include schizophrenia, suicidal ideation, homicidal ideation, and psychosis. Secured Holding is a 5-bed emergency psychiatric unit with patients who present to the emergency department for mental health issues. Patients are assessed and placed in an appropriate level of care. ECT is one of the only ECT programs in the state. We use electroconvulsive therapy primarily to treat depression and catatonia. We treat 18-24 patients, three days a week.
