    Job Description Pharmacy Technician The Pharmacy Technician position can vary based on the technician's desire to promote advancement within In Touch Pharmaceuticals. The Pharmacy Technician will have the opportunity to follow the “Pharmacy Technician's Pathway to Success” provided completion of competency assessments and attainment of metric criteria within a tiered level. The Pharmacy Technician can reach levels of success within a dispensing department role, a data entry department role, and/or a sterile IV compounding department role. Job Responsibilities The primary purpose of the Pharmacy Technician and contribution to the organization and team is responding and completing tasks designated in each respective department (i.e. Dispensing, Data Entry, IV). Routinely applies critical thinking skills and effectively initiates resolution to problems identified by the customer or within departmental environments. Work cohesively within designated department to effectively promote teamwork. Essential Functions The essential functions of the Pharmacy Technician position include, but not limited to: Gain and maintain the knowledge required to independently work within their designated department and tier requirements (See Pharmacy Technician's Pathway to Success). Close vision activity may be required with the ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus. The overall work environment has moderate noise and can lead to excessive noise levels depending on the area of concentration (i.e. co-worker conversation, use of office equipment, automation and machinery). Post payments and shipments to ensure accurate payment status and accurate account activity. Evaluate all completed prescriptions/authorizations to ensure that the appropriate information has been obtained to allow for compliance with applicable standards and regulations. Perform follow up on all outstanding prescriptions/authorizations and communicate discrepancies to pharmacist or PSC technicians. Perform problem solving on order delays.
