Electrician Salary:45.90/hr **UNION PLANT** Shift: 3rd shift This position will trouble-shoot, repair, program, replace, maintain, and install electrical/electronic systems for production related equipment and building utilities within this high-speed state-of-the-art metal packaging manufacturing facility. Equipment includes packaging machinery. Responsibilities include following all local, state and federal electrical codes. Documentation of problems and maintenance of equipment and facility systems are also required. This position will also provide training for equipment operation and safety precautions. Responsibilities also include installing and maintaining new and existing electrical wiring within the facility. Job Requirements A high school graduate or equivalent with 4+ years working experience in a manufacturing setting (high-speed manufacturing is preferred). An Associates/technical degree is preferred or a related vocational/technical certification (state electrical license, journeyman license, etc.). Knowledge of Allen Bradley/Omron/Direct Logic PLC's are required as well as integrated Window software to analyze AC/DC, single phase and 3 phase generators and AC/DC motors, relays, switches, breaker transformers, and power panels. Knowledge of single and 3-phase up to 440 volts. This position also requires the individual to be able to read and interpret mechanical blueprints, electrical schematics, and parts specifications. Day Shift: 6:00am-2:30pm Reporting to the Manufacturing Engineer, the Industrial Maintenance Tech will be responsible for shift support for all electrical/mechanical problems that might arise with equipment/facilities as well as completing all predictive and preventative maintenance work. This position would also be responsible for all machine management and maintenance across the fabrication department and would lead special projects to both equipment/facilities and systems development. Troubleshooting and repair of components such as rolls, shafts, bearings, drive belts, drive chains and gear boxes utilizing basic mechanics hand and power tools Troubleshooting and repair of pumps, valves, and piping systems to include installation of coper pipes or PVC pipes. Reads and interprets manuals, schematics, blueprints, drawings, and other written installation and repair instructions Identify and complete predictive and preventative maintenance work and weekly mechanical press inspections Machinery includes NC Turret Presses, Waterjet, Press Brakes, Routers, Welders, Drill Presses, and hand power tools. Manage backlog of work orders. Maintain Maintenance Area tools and equipment. Maintain and organize all toolboxes, workspaces, and maintenance specific equipment. Makes mechanical repairs to cranes, and as otherwise required in connection with electrical service. Oakton St. Des Plaines, IL The Job You Will Perform: Industrial maintenance/mechanic electrician will perform routine preventive maintenance and repair of machines. Troubleshoot emergency maintenance on machines as necessary to support plant operations. Troubleshoot industrial, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical failures Reads, manages and performs work orders of required maintenance services. The Skills You Will Bring: 3+ years in industrial manufacturing PLC troubleshooting, inputs/outputs, and changeouts of programs Experience with Factory Talk or similar HMI software Photo eyes, sensors, limit switches, and solenoids Repairing and troubleshooting conveyor systems (line controls) Mechanical Systems (bearings, chains, sprockets, gearboxes) Hydraulics & Pneumatics High and Low Voltage Ability to operate a multimeter to diagnose a variety of electrical issues Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds Frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.
