Working with minimal supervision, Industrial Electronic Electricians work on the electrical and electronic controls of manufacturing machine tools and related manufacturing equipment. Employees in this position:
Install, maintain, test, troubleshoot and repair electrical and electronic systems, controls, and components of manufacturing machine tools and production equipment.
Use knowledge, manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints, sketches, electrical codes and other specifications to perform work. However, they may work without instructions or documentation. Employees may design circuitry to modify control designs to repair or improve electronic controls and control systems. Employees may produce schematics, sketches or other documentation to record accomplished work.
May repair or modify printed circuit cards.
May program computer controls for production equipment and machine tools. This function does not include writing numerical control programs that operate machine tools or create tool paths to manufacture products.
Will perform the functions of the Industrial Maintenance Electrician to include but not limited to: electrical infrastructure installations, lighting repair and replacement, knowledge of the NEC and California Electric Code, and electrical motor repair and replacement.
May communicate directly with manufacturer's technical or engineering support to resolve machine tool or other production equipment problems.
Employees must have the skills and knowledge to perform work in a safe manner in compliance with published codes, manufacturer's recommendations, and all Solar Turbines safety procedures.
Will use hand tools, power tools, electrical and electronic test equipment.
May perform additional task a directed by supervision.
Minimum Qualifications :
Experience with electrical and electronic trouble shooting, installation, and repair.
Knowledge of motor controls, ladder logic, and PLC's.
The ability to run conduit of all sizes
Ability to work at heights, operate forklifts, man lifts, and scissor lifts.

The Alaska segment primarily explores for, produces, transports and markets crude oil, natural gas and NGLs. We are the largest crude oil producer in Alaska and have major ownership interests in the Prudhoe Bay, Kuparuk and Western North Slope asset areas. Additionally, we are one of Alaska's largest owners of state, federal and fee exploration leases, with approximately one million net undeveloped acres at year-end 2024. nVent's pay scale is based on the expected range of base pay for this job and the employee's work location. Under the close direction of at least a grade 10 journey-level position, incumbent will assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems by performing duties such as lifting, carrying, and handing tools and equipment to the journey-level employee; helping to diagnose, repair, assemble, and install electrical components; helping to cut and thread electrical conduit according to clear instructions; cutting or drilling previously marked holes in walls; using test equipment to provide preliminary electrical readings; digging trenches or holes for installation of conduit or supports; maintaining electrical work logs; etc.
Assist in the installation, maintenance, and/or repair of high-voltage (above 600 volts) electric power control equipment, distribution lines, or electric-generating equipment.
Assist with the disassembly, repair, reassembly, and/or testing of electrical equipment.
Perform various laboring duties that require moderate physical effort. Regularly and routinely lift up to 50 pounds as part of electrician related duties. May be required to use chainsaws to clear hazards from electrical lines.

Physical Effort:

The anticipated salary range for this role in the California locality is between $113,300 to $141,625 per year - salary ranges for other geographic localities may vary. Certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including merit increases, annual bonus and stock. These awards are allocated based on individual performance and are role based. In addition, certain roles also have the opportunity to earn sales incentives based on revenue or utilization, depending on the terms of the plan and the employee's role.
